人気ドラマのシーズン２の配信開始を前に、主要登場人物の２人、地下施設で育ったルーシー役のエラ・パーネルと、その父親ハンク役のカイル・マクラクラン、そして製作総指揮のジョナサン・ノーランが来日し、シーズン２の見どころを語ってくれた。
パーネルは取材前の休憩中に、スタッフに昨日食べたラーメンが美味しかったなどと楽しそうに語り、日本での体験を満喫している様子だが、ドラマについて語る姿勢は真剣そのもの。シーズン２では彼女が演じるルーシーが大変な体験をするようだ。
「いちばん難しかったのは、シーズン２の最終話の演技。その時点で、ルーシーは大きな決断を迫られて、肉体的にも精神的にも追い詰められているから。彼女は、思っていた以上にダークな方向に進むことになる。自分が自分である存在意義を失ってしまったら？ それまで守ってきた黄金律（自分が他人からしてほしいと思うことを他人にもするという普遍的な倫理原則）を破ってしまったら？ ルーシーはそんな疑問に直面する。シーズン２は、アイデンティティ、希望、善悪についての物語になっていると思う」
一方、マクラクランが演じたルーシーの父親ハンクは、シーズン1冒頭では皆に信頼される地下施設のリーダーだったが誘拐されてしまい、シーズン1の最後で、ルーシーが彼を見つけた時には、すでに彼には別の側面があったことが判明していた。
「最初は、そういう複雑な人物だとは知らずに演じていたんだ（笑）。でもシーズン1のラストで彼は思っていたような人物ではないことが分かる。だから、ルーシーが目の前に現れた時には、彼女が地下施設から地上に出て生き延びたこと、行方不明の父親を探しだすという偉業を達成したことで、彼女をすごく誇りに思いながら、同時に恥ずかしいとも思うんだ。自分の子供から、恐ろしいものを見るような目で見られることは、最悪なことだ。それまで隠してきた自分の罪が、すべて表面に出てきたように感じるんだよ」
シーズン1最終話でハンクは逃亡し、ルーシーはまた彼を探すことになる。そんな２人の親子関係がどうなるのかも、シーズン２の見どころだ。
シーズン２のハンクは、本人は大真面目なのに側から見るとちょっと笑えるような雰囲気が、彼の代表作であるデヴィッド・リンチ監督のドラマ「ツイン・ピークス」のクーパー捜査官役にも似ている。
「それは意識してなかったな。２人とも探究者だけど、ハンクは科学に基づいて研究するし、クーパー捜査官は犯人を見つけるために、ガラスビンに石を投げつけるような人物だから（笑）。でも言われてみれば、２人ともどこかユーモラスなところは似てるかな」
また、製作総指揮のジョナサン・ノーランは、本作の魅力をこう語る。
「原作ゲームをプレイした時に、これはいったい何なんだと思ったんだ。ダークでミステリアスで、コミカルで奇抜で、バカバカしいところもある。こんなゲームは体験したことがなかったから、ドラマにしたいと思ったんだ。シーズン２ではこれまでの方向性をもっと先に推し進めていく。ドラマのトーンは変わらないけど、政治的な危ないユーモアは増えるよ。“やったぜ！”と思ったのは、ゲームの最強モンスター、デスクローを登場させたことだ。文字通り無敵だから、ストーリー全体の展開を左右する。デスクローがどんなふうに登場するか、お楽しみに！」

核戦争が起きて200年後のアメリカを舞台にしたSFドラマ。地下施設のひとつ「Vault33」を出て、荒廃した地上＜ウェイストランド＞で父を探すルーシー（パーネル）が知ったのは父ハンク（マクラクラン）が、ある都市を滅ぼしたという悍ましい事実だった。再会も束の間、再び姿を消した父を追って、ルーシーは大都市ニューベガスへの冒険に出る。
