Carenado Beechcraft Bonanza V35 | Review Flight | Microsoft Flight Simulator

https://www.fsacademy.co.uk

In this video, we test out the Asobo / Carenado Beechcraft Bonanza V35 within Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS).

The aircraft is number 3 in Asobo’s “Famous Flyer” series and we’ll be taking it on a flight from South Lake Tahoe airport (KTVL), up to Reno / Stead airport (KRTS), trying to find out what the Bonanza has to offer.

Please note this video and all it’s contents / materials, is for entertainment / simulation purposes only.

  1. Man how I wish Carenado would do proper sounds for their planes. I can live with the shallow depth of system simulation (fine for the price) but the sounds are bad. I have their Twin Beach and the throathy radials are barely audible, the mixing between the startup sounds and the idle sounds are an immersion ruining joke… it's just bad. They never update anything, too, so there's that. The Beech 18 has been out two months now and the autopilot is still dysfunctionnal for the rest of the flight if you flip the landing lights switch. And the fuel pump sounds way louder than both engines. It's a shame.

Thank you for the review, always a pleasure to watch them.

  2. Do you notice a change in sound volume when you increase throttle. I've found its get quieter and not louder

  3. God! Isnt this sim so damn beautiful. Amazed at the scenery you flew today. I really like the plane. Bought the seneca V. Im really tempted to get this one too and buy the real poh

  4. I just purchased this airplane a few hours ago. I don't have much to complain about, I think it is visually stunning as most Carenado products are. It's nice to fly and handles pretty much as I expected. As you mentioned the sound could be a bit better but I'm not too disappointed with it, and we don't have the tablet this time around. However, I like that the animated static wicks were included. I know its a small detail, but I just think it adds a touch more immersion. It would be nice to have a visual copilot in the right seat too. Anyway, I think it was worth the price. Nice review!

  5. New PC with a 3090 video card coming. This will be one of the first planes I buy once I get the FS downloaded again.

  6. Great video and nice flight as always. Just to note, I have been able to remove the copilot by adding their weight as "0" in the weight and balance section before flight. While it would be nice to have the tablet to do that, It isn't much worse to do it before flight. Really enjoying the V35B so far, though it doesn't like to slow in a slip much like the real-life counterpart.

  7. Thank you for your excellent reviews. I like to watch them and I appreciate the little extras you put in your videos when you explain what's the purpose of your flight. These kind of background stories adds to the immersion, at least for me. So, thank you for your work. The question I have: I have noticed in some of your videos (e.g. this one, Kodiak 100, Twin Otter) talking on the radio. I guess it's ATC and I find it a pretty cool and immersive feature. A feature I would like to add to my MSFS, too. Can you please explain me how you did it? Thx and all the best.

  8. For the price – it was a sentimental purchase – I looked on my old PPL – and I was endorsed on the V35 — April 24 1974😉

  9. Good morning! Fun and informative video as always.

This video's venue brings a lot of memories as I took my primary private pilot training out of KRNO and practiced numerous landings at Reno/Stead KRTS (4SD back when I was learning lol) as it is a good field with a long runway and in the afternoon, challenging wind conditions. I used to do a lot of scenic flights with friends over Tahoe and Incline Village, I really like that MSFS can offer scenery that pretty much looks like the real thing! As a kid growing up in Reno, we used to go to the Air Races every year as well.

The Bonanza looks okay but I am waiting for the upcoming A2A Comanche. This will set a new standard for sim A/C. I am usually ambivalent about Carenado products but I do really like the Cessna Skymaster and the earlier Mooney M20 they have released.

In lieu of A2A in the meantime, I find the Just Flight GA aircraft (All Warrior marks and the Archer) to be excellent and a great current sub for A2A's current absence from MSFS. The MilViz Twin Cessna is also excellent.

    Happy flying and cheers 😀

  10. Don't think I'll be buy buying this GA yet, but probably will after a few updates. It does look promising in the future.

  11. nice review as always, enjoyed the flight, the plane and the scenery. I don’t have much bonding to this little v-tail so I think I will pass it. Arrow III is enough for me in the category. 🙂 (in other words I’m now strong enough not to buy everything you make a video about :D)

  12. I can see my self flying this plane a lot, I seen many of these when I was a kid and fun fact. The MSFS senior community manager Jayne was engaged on board a V-Tail Bonanza with Shinji Maeda the 1 eyed Japanese pilot at the controls.

  13. Thank you, for another great review. This model will do, until A2A gets around to releasing their Accuflight Bonanza for MSFS…

  14. I'm like 100. I do hope the modding community get the PMS50 GTN-750 working or Black Square create an addon that enables all this perfectly with also co pilot showing option and storm window that does not close automatically. Love the plane but I need the PMS50 GTN-750 in it so I can fly her lots more.

  15. Great flight. I live about 2 hours from So Lake Tahoe and go there 3 or 4 times a year. We drive by the airport all the time. Will have to give this flight a go. As I have said previously, I personally think you get a very solid aircraft from Carenado, especially for the money. Cheers! !! !!!

  16. I must not buy any more planes. I must not buy any more planes. Is there a hypnotist in the house?

  17. This is the 2nd one I've bought due to your vids, good value in the marketplace for twelve quid. Just tried a short flight from Leicester airport to East Midlands airport, nice n steady and flies well with the Velocity Once flight yoke and Saitek instrument panel. Cheers

  18. Another Good Review as Usual and Sigh already have meself a G36 and a Just Flight Arrow do I need a V35 and being burned by Carenado once bitten twice shy sooo what do you think.

  19. I’ll watch the video as your content is always entertaining, but I will never give Carenado another dollar either directly or through this business model. Carenado is great at making what I call Super Models. Absolutely beautiful but has the depth of a puddle. I know I say the same thing on every Carenado video but I hate to see so much potential wasted on fast money grabs.

  20. early on in MSFS i would prob buy this but Carenado is just to Arcade for me, they got exellent details on their aircrafts and beautiful textures but no wear and tear and always a bunch of INOPS. I really wish they would go a step further. Exellent video as always 🙂

  21. I would like to see a side-by-side review of the flight model vs the stock Bonanza, especially regarding situations where the V-tail would change the flight behavior.

  22. As soon as I see 'Carenado' it is an instant-ignore from me. Long history of poor systems depth, bad flight model and weak sounds.

  23. Another mainly eye candy ac from Carenado. Shame. Classic ac. Better to pay more rather than rush it out for quick money. Thanks for the vid.

  24. Nice review once again and lovely scenery. I will add this one to my hangar. As you say, given the price the few things that are inop won't detract too much. It certainly looks the part as would be expected from Carenado.

  25. High quality channel this. Well done 👍🏻

Are you using VR? Looks much more ‘fluid’ than the ‘stock’ game.

Unless I’m missing a setting on my configuration…

  26. Nice aicraft. I love the Bonanza V tail. Just one question: what are you doings in the USA with a UK registered Bonanza? A N registered Bonanza would be more credible. Simmers always fly with the wrong registered aircraft!

  27. I've always had an eye for the v-tail Bonanza. Something about its looks captivated me when I was young. Apparently my great-grandfather felt the same way. He owned the infamous "Doctor Killer." It was bare metal with red trim. I have a black and white photo of him and my grandmother from when he picked it up new from the Beechcraft facility in Wichita, KS in 1947. He was an architectural engineer and would use it to hot shot around to various job sites. Just a few months later, he was returning home when weather conditions became solidly IFR. Inexperience combined with primitive 1940's navigational technology caused him to end up quite a ways off course and either out of fuel or confused on his location, he came down through the cloud layer and clipped into a tree, killing him instantly.

While I inherited his love for aviation, this (and finance reasons) are why I stick to simulators. I do use his tail number on my aircraft in the sim.

  28. If you have no attachment to the real aeroplane is there anything about this that makes it stick out? seems like another blah Carenado GA aircraft without even some of the frills Carenado provide. With something of a flood of mediocre GA aircraft already in this sim new ones really do need some sort of USP.

  29. I think for the price I think this is one of those "why not?" type of buys. Do I absolutely need it? No. But it is a v-tail, so why not?!

  30. As far as I can tell this is the same sound package as the Carenado Arrow. I find it interesting how enamored the community is by this aircraft while the Carenado Arrow got dumped on. It is pretty but their Arrow has the best night lighting in the sim IMHO so I see no need to buy another GA in this class just for another 10 knots in the cruise. Xbox btw so no JF arrow after 1 year…

Please, WT GNS530 update now that the G1000 is done – in the name of everything third party Xbox!

  31. New subscriber, I’ve watched a few of your videos over the past month, always a very balanced and fair review 👍
