  1. Watched the clips haven't watched the video yet, too lazy to verify definitively, but I believe the Mario 64 clip was spliced and the blinking animations are off and the Minecraft one has the wrong world loading animation. Don't know enough about Zelda or GoldenEye speedruns to see what's wrong off hand though.

    EDIT
Ah, the Mario 64 and OoT errors were staring me in the face. At least I got 1 in 4.

  2. Thanks for the great video as always. I love seeing game show type videos like this one, though I will say, if you ever do this again (which would be awesome btw) it would be really cool to include the participants reactions to being told or explained what the correct answers were.

  3. Anyone not wanting to know the RedMagic tablet price it's 500 bucks.
Not quite the price expected when he tried making it sound cheap and then avoided telling you the price.

  4. This format is great. To be hones I was little bit bored because of your videos have similar format. But this was quite interesting and I couldn't stop watching till the end. It would be great if you will do something very different from time to time.

  5. I would have loved to see their reactions to the reveal of the fake and how to tell. This was still a fun watch though.

  6. I only correctly spotted number ones method but I managed to blind luck guess my way through two other ones.

  7. This is a really great idea Karl. It really solidifies how easy cheating can go unnoticed.

  8. Cool new concept! This was a treat. I always like hearing speedrunners' thoughts about unfamiliar speedgames. Maybe it stems from the novelty of different subcommunities mingling.

  9. Wirtual, Summoning Salt, you got some names I know… and I don't know names… so I'm impressed.

  10. I thought the Zelda one was different because of the half a heart missing lol

  11. for minecraft the second one is fake right? haven't watched the actual vid but the loading screen is supposed to dtart in the top left and not the bottom right

  12. great video!! i played along as well but didn't manage to find any of them xD i felt sheepish about the SM64 one, the other games i probably could've spotted as well but don't know a ton about them, it was really fun though!!

  13. loved this! we need more of this kind of stuff, keep people and the community on their A game for detecting cheats

  14. This was a phenomenally entertaining video! I would not be upset if we had another of these release down the road with different games. Thanks Karl!

  15. I spotted the cheating in zelda and minecraft but not the others. You should do this again in the future.

  16. I swear I can hear the Home – We're Finally Landing every time Summoning Salt speaks.
He doesn't even need to add the ost for my brain to add it by itself.

  17. For me, I’ve played Minecraft for over a decade and have seen a ton. I didn’t know the mechanics to world loading myself so it’s really cool to see how many ways you can spot a fake. It seems like the N64 games are a easier tell based on the fact that the continuity errors are easy to spot with only knowledge gained from being sorta familiar with the game, but Minecraft’s mechanics are so in depth and change from every little circumstance that it’s insane. The first two fakes are obvious if you pay close attention and the third is obvious if you know about the changes in the cutscene, but the Minecraft one is so hard to detect if you don’t pay close attention AND test it for yourself

  18. I'd have spotted the GoldenEye one purely because I remember watching Karl's video on the cheating scandal and remembered how they were caught. The others I'd have missed though.

  19. Really interesting experiment. Something I’d like to see explored – whether there’s discernible pattern to cheaters behaviour when they get called out. You know, like the 5 stages of grief, denial, bargaining etc etc. I’ve definitely noticed really common reaction phases.

  20. That was an awesome video!
A bit of a change from the normal content and I really enjoyed it
    Thanks Karl

  21. I felt like i had the right base knowledge for must of the speedruns, excelpt golden eye. Yet i only knew for sure the answer for the Mario and Zelda
