  1. russo killed off wcw! yeah they were going in the wrong direction, but he was a definite cancer to wcw!

  2. Russo and Hogan were right about each other… they were both pieces of sh*t

  3. Those blood botches were some of the most unintentionally funny things I ever saw. 😂

  4. WCW was way above WWF until WWF come in unfortunately we don't have real wrestling anymore because WCW is gone all the great wrestlers are gone and now we're stuck with nothing wrestling cuz all we have is WWE

  5. At Bash at the Beach 2000, Hogan actually said “Is this your deal Russo? That’s why this company’s in the damn shape it’s in because of bs like this.”

  6. I think the Hogan corruption had a lot of potential. Hogan already is kind of like that, so they were probably wanting to turn it into a positive the way Vince turned the Montreal Screwjob into a heel turn and let Steven Austin and others humiliate him constantly as some corrupt figure. It just was not executed well. Having a guy fall over when Hogan poked him or lay down so Hogan could pin them should be followed up with a strong and immediate backlash from some babyface coming in and not playing along with his bullshit. BUT IT NEVER HAPPENED.

  7. According to Russo, his victory over the World Title was due to Goldberg's botched Spear.

  8. Goldberg didn't intentionally go off script. He had a small steel pipe in his hand and accidently dropped it. He couldn't break character to get it, so he kept going.

  9. I’m sorry, but Judy Bagwell on a pole is actually gold. Well done to everyone involved in making that happen.

  10. Vince Russo is the Rob Liefeld of pro wrestling. He could draw up the most mentally disabled scenes imaginable and relax in his own delusion that it was a stroke of genius.

  11. Making fun of someone’s mannerisms and way of speech is one thing, but making a joke out of their disabilities is just gross. Sometimes it feels like WCW as a company was set up for career suicide, like someone burning down their business for the insurance money.

  12. Even as a kid I was starting to see behind the veil because of how formulaic matches turned out in WCW. Like Goldberg going untouched for that long and also the NWO running the entire show by cheating over and over. It had amazing ideas sometimes, but didn't know how to expand upon them in the long term.

  13. What about the moment that people lost faith in wcw. Hogan beats Sting at starcade. 1, 2, 3. Then made out as if it was a quick count. Sting winning should have been the greatest moment in wcw, but hogan's arrogance didn't allow it.

  14. I was a huge WCW fan 1996-1999. The downfall to me started with the set redesign. The 1st nitro set (1996 – Early 1999) made the show look open and huge. The new set design made the entrance compact and small. The old set didn't have much of a ramp and the new set had a steep, narrow ramp made of steel and the wrestlers used to walk out cautiously so not to slip on live TV.
The old set represents a Golden Age of WCW, the new set signifies its death.

  15. There’s been a rumor for YEARS that Russo was a plant by Vince as a way to destroy WCW from within, and make them almost worthless, so Vince could buy them out for cheap.

  16. I stopped watching new wrestling of any sort about 2000 so I missed out on all of this. Thank goodness for YouTube

  17. I always thought the biggest blunder was putting the world title on Chris Benoit, who promptly left for WWF immediately afterwards

  18. WCW wrestlers were 100 times better than your current favourite jobbers like Daniel Bryan, Kofi, Cody etc for whom y'all cry

  19. I always hated WCW. Its hard to explain it. Their smaller ring, the sound it makes during bumps, their titantron, their announcers, the main eventers not being cool. The only cool thing i saw there was when Rodman wrestled Malone. I have always been a WWF/E fan. I always believed that they have a better product.

  20. Soooo…..what was the Tank Abbott segment in question?
    You kinda sipped that part.

  21. Between the nwo, the wolfpack and the latino world order, two thirds of any given show was spent watching them all saunter down to the ring with their theme music.
