Hot take: I think the casting of Lady Tsukiyama was on purpose. It has a huge Easter egg with it. The similarity between Lady Tsukiyama and the character of Tomoe in Rurouni Kenshin is so uncanny. Same actress. Same role as a first wife of the protagonist. Same outcome, but for a complete opposite reason. One sacrificed herself to preserve the Tokugawa and establish the shogunate. Another did it to tear said shogunate down.

個人的には、大河ドラマ「葵三代」で、三林京子さんが演じた、貫禄ある阿茶局が一番好きです。
京都にある上徳寺に阿茶局の供養塔があるので行ったことがあります。
これだけの功績を残した側室なら阿茶局を主役としたTVドラマを見てみたいですね😊
