菜々緒が主演するドラマ『忍者に結婚は難しい』（フジテレビ系／毎週木曜22時）の第8話（2月23日放送）に、上白石萌音がスペシャルゲストとして出演。菜々緒演じる蛍が属する甲賀忍者の諜報（ちょうほう）部員“山田”役で登場する。
横関大の同名小説（講談社）を実写化する本作は、現代に生き永らえる“忍者の末裔（まつえい）”というコミカルな世界観の中で、主人公の夫婦が表と裏の顔の二面性を持ち併せて織り成す忍者×夫婦ラブコメディー。
