I received a question on my How I Use Dr. Bronner’s Soap video on where to find the expiration date on the bottle. I had no idea so I did some research and learned how to read the date code on the bottles of Dr. Bronner’s Soap — this applies to the 18-in-1 castile soap as well as Sal Suds. Hopefully, this video can help some of you!

The first set of 4 or 5 digits is the date code. On my bottle, my first set of digits is 18135, which means my bottle was filled in 2018, on the 135th day of the year (i.e., May 15, 2018).

If you have a 4 digit code, the first year represents the year the bottle was filled (e.g., 3165 means the bottle was filled in 2013). The last 3 digits represent the day of the year, counting from January 1st = 1 (e.g., 3165 means the bottle was filled on the 165th day of the year, which is June 14).

Here’s a link to a Julian Date Calendar for reference (you can also Google it): https://www.pps.noaa.gov/forms_guides/guides_aids_tools/julian-date-calendar.PDF

While the bottles do not specify an expiration date, the FAQ on the Dr. Bronner’s Soap website indicates: “In general, we recommend using Dr. Bronner’s body care products within three years of purchase. Soaps are self-preserving, but because our products are biodegradable, it’s best to not leave them on the shelf for too long, as they may start to lose strength.”
https://www.drbronner.com/faqs/

Dr. Bronner’s Soap – https://amzn.to/2G813JN
Sal Suds – https://amzn.to/2NNCWUQ

**** Related videos ****
How I use Dr. Bronner’s Soap – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=to7d2OkLaPs
How to use Dr. Bronner’s Soap to clean make-up brushes – https://youtu.be/czWwqqoop40
How I use Sal Suds to clean my entire home – https://youtu.be/GucqcQ9U4XU?si=F-oPqcnjYCh4epyN

Thank you for watching! x

Vlog channel: https://www.youtube.com/authenblissityvlogs
Website: https://www.authenblissity.com
My book of self-reflection exercises: https://www.authenblissity.com/abr-book

Not sponsored.
