Many of them just didn’t leave me smelling fresh (or worse left me smelling worse than if I didn’t wear deodorant at all)! I finally found one that worked for me–Schmidt’s natural deodorant stick with charcoal. After using it for about 3 months, I started to develop an allergy to it and was no longer able to use it.

That’s when my quest for a homemade deodorant began! This recipe is the only one I’ve found that works all day long ,lasts through sweaty workouts, and keeps the dreaded stinky pit smell at bay.

The ingredients are simple, vegan and might just be in your pantry already!

Ingredients
1/2 cup Arrowroot powder (or cornstarch) 🌽
1/2 cup Baking soda (use 1/4 cup, if you are sensitive to it)
5-7 tbsp Coconut oil 🥥
15-20 drops Antibacterial essential oils – your scent of choice 🥰

Instructions
🌿Add all ingredients to a bowl and mix well together. If you have a kitchen-aid mixer that can be used, but I just mix this using a regular tablespoon. The consistency of this DIY deodorant changes depending on the weather. I tend to use more coconut oil in the winter and a little less in the summer.

🌿Check on the consistency of your deodorant as you are mixing, and add more oil as needed. You want this to be a thick paste that spreads easily.

How do I use homemade deodorant from a jar?

🌿 Using a clean spoon or popsicle stick, remove a small amount of the paste and place it on your armpit. Leave it for about 10 seconds to warm up, then spread around the under-arm area. If the weather is cold and you try to force the paste to spread, you can end up irritating the sensitive under-arm skin. I just use my finger to dig out the deodorant and haven’t had any issues, but I always wash my hands before and after application.

Why should you use coconut oil in deodorant?

🥥 Coconut oil helps kill fungi, yeast and bacteria and it’s also very moisturizing. This makes coconut oil the perfect base for a natural deodorant.

What if I’m sensitive to baking soda?

🌿 You can adjust the recipe to have less baking soda in it. I have used less baking soda and found it still works great! Using less may help with the sensitivity. Also, choosing a higher-end brand of baking soda (such as Bob’s Red Mill) may help too. I haven’t tried this recipe without baking soda, so not sure if it would work quite as well.

Which essential oils can be used in homemade natural deodorant?

🌿Any essential oil with antibacterial properties can be used in natural deodorant. Some of my favourites include:
-Lavender oil
-Tea Tree oil 🪴
-Peppermint oil 🌱
-Grapefruit oil
-Rosemary oil
-Orange oil 🍊
-Cedarwood oil
-Clary sage essential oil is great for those sensitive armpits that are prone to razor burn and rashes

Will I have to detox my armpits before using natural deodorant?

You can switch to natural deodorant at any time. However, most people notice an increase in smell when making the switch.

Be patient, it can take up to a month for your body to get used to the new natural deodorant 🥰
🌶 Follow me for the best Spicy Vegan Recipes! 🌶

🌶 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/spicyveganfood/

🌶 Contact: spicyveganfood@gmail.com

Natural Homemade Deodorant DYI – Vegan and it actually works! 🐰🌱💕 I have tried pretty much every natural deodo

[5
31,98227,98228,98225,98218,413,98226,98224,1639,10953,462,27580,98219,80553,98223,79109,98215,98216,6891,21535,30,98213,98214,98217,1640,1471,98220,98222,98221,88679
0":"post-111321","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-hair-care","8":"tag-conditioner","9":"tag-deodorant-diy","10":"tag-diy-natural-deodorant","11":"tag-dyi-vegan-deodorant","12":"tag-easy-vegan-recipe","13":"tag-hair-recipe-","14":"tag-homemade-natural-vegan-deodorant","15":"tag-homemade-vegan-deodorant","16":"tag-how","17":"tag-how-to-make","18":"tag-make","19":"tag-natural-deodorant","20":"tag-natural-deodorant-recipe","21":"tag-natural-deodorant-that-works","22":"tag-natural-dyi-deodorant-that-works","23":"tag-plant-based","24":"tag-plant-based-food","25":"tag-plant-based-recipes","26":"tag-recipe","27":"tag-recipes","28":"tag-shampoo","29":"tag-spicy","30":"tag-spicy-vegan-food","31":"tag-spicy-vegan-recipes","32":"tag-to","33":"tag-vegan","34":"tag-vegan-deodorant-diy","35":"tag-vegan-deodorant-recipe","36":"tag-vegan-deodorant-that-works","37":"tag-vegan-recipes
["GET
