I went to the dermatologist because I was getting acne on my chin and cheeks and she recommended the Cerave products. Specifically the Acne Foaming Cream Cleanser 4% benzoyl peroxide. It's a lot more sensitive than the products with 10%. She also prescribed tretinoin cream 0.025 and Spironolac. Which is a high blood pressure medicine, but it helps get rid of acne. My acne is all gone, I'm just dealing with discoloration now. All this to say, going to the dermatologist is worth the time and money.
I’m 40 and had adult acne too. I couldn’t figure out what in the world was causing it. Figured it out. Any skincare that had fragrance caused acne. Once I switched to Cerave or Cetaphil products…basically anything for sensitive skin…my face cleared up and it hasn’t been an issue since!!
