I have very dry skin and have been dealing with it for 40 years after taking Accutane in my early 20s. Angie's making some good suggestions here, especially running a vaporizer and using tepid water in the shower. If you have a desk or cube at work, you may be able to run a vaporizer – I have. Also, if you just have to use warmer water, keep it as cool as you can.
Use gentle unscented cleansers – the Cerave product Angie suggested looks good, but the Derma E is actually scented with lemongrass. If your skin is very dry, the Olay Cleanse Gentle Foaming Face Cleanser and the Vanicream facial cleanser are good. I've used them both and can recommend them.
Be aware that most body washes are scented, even ones labeled "fragrance free" or "hypoallergenic" or "unscented." You have to read the ingredients lists thoroughly to be sure products are truly unscented. For your body, try the Kirk's 3 in 1 Nourishing Skin Cleanser in the Fragrance Free version, or Aquaphor or Eucerin Baby body washes.
You can also use these as hand soaps. The only unscented liquid hand soap that I know of is a Seventh Generation product, and it's much more expensive per ounce than the body washes I named above.
Moisturize like crazy with gentle unscented products. Again, be aware that you have to read the ingredients lists thoroughly to be sure products are truly unscented. And layer moisturizers if you need to. I use a ton of Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Fragrance Free hand cream and Vanicream cream on my hands, face, and body. Also Aquaphor ointment around my eyes at night and on my feet, and anywhere where I get a dry patch. Aquaphor is great for healing rough, flaky areas!
Disclaimer: I don't get paid or compensated in any way to recommend products, and I don't receive free products to review.
Picked up the Derma E sensitive skin cleanser today. Hoping for great results. Will slowly add your other recommendations. Great videos thank you so much.
Wow! You have the greatest followers and have thus became the best sales person. Most of the products recommended here are already sold out! You made that happen! 😊👍
Would you be willing to do a video with all the entire morning routine and evening routine. I wonder how much time that all takes! It seems a lot. I feel accomplished when I put on moisturizer and eye cream and now I realize I am not even doing the bare minimum! 😩
This is perfectly timed. My skin is so dry right now plus part of it, I was sick and didn’t get in enough water. The humidifier is it a cold air or warm air humidifier? I will try some of these out. ❤
This is a really interesting video. Another thing I do is use an in-shower body lotion. I think the one I use is Nivea Cocoa Butter. You use it as your last step in the shower. Then I mix cocoa butter Vaseline with my lotion and apply to damp skin right after showering. For me – and this is largely a cultural thing – daily showers are non-negotiable, and we wash head to toe. So these extra steps really help.
Angie the Alpha skin care lotion is the bomb. I had been using Eucerin intensive repair lotion and thought it was doing pretty good. so I put the alpha lotion, head to head with the Eucerin. I used the alpha on the left side of my body and the Eucerin on the right. After 10 days, I could see such a difference. I’m just using the alpha lotion now. My creepiness is so much better and my skin feels lovely. Thank you so much. Hugs.❤
Hi Angie. Been watching for about a year. You’re definitely a favorite! I’m curious if you’ve ever heard of or tried Emepelle? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
Hi Angie, I was looking for the product that you said that ppl mentioned that it really helped with their eczema. I thought I saw it in this video, but I can’t find it. Can you help?
0:01 …Absolutely agree redruby! Thank you for reminding us! HA is a humectant, so it’s a great product BUT you need a good moisturizer to lock your serums (including an HA) in place.
Angie , this is wishful thinking on my part…but you deserve your own skincare line. You are so knowledgeable , especially from a chemical perspective . Hope this has been on your mind for awhile 😊❤️
LOVE Organy cleansing oil as much as Take the Day off and it's only $21 at amazon. Specific to eyes, if I need it, The Lancome Bi-facial does not do that cloudy eye thing. Almost refreshing.
Have you ever tried using a mascara guard? If so, which one do you recommend? There are numerous versions on Amazon but it is placed over the eyelid when applying mascara to keep it from getting on the eyelid. It gets harder to apply mascara if you need glasses to see!!
Angie, I have VERY dry skin and it is so helpful when you say something is greasy or oily-I know that will work well for me. Also, you are about the only person who shares eye shadow pallets that are for cool skin tones. So many eye shadows have warm tones. Thank you for telling us where we can find the cool eye shadow pallet. I wish there was a small cook eye shadow pallet to take on vacation. Thank you!
Angie I am 49 and I have NEVER worn daily sunscreen….and I live in Florida! I can say that I got the R & R last week and I have used it every day since!!! Holy cow this stuff is amazing!!! THANK YOU!!!! I am so happy (and so is my skin)!
This is my first time watching you. I've always been a Bath and Body fan but am now switching to Mario Badecsu and CereVe. I'm pretty broke hut really want to make an effort. Everything seems to burn my sensitive skin but Mario Badecsu works for ne. I life in S Mississippi so cold isn't much of an issue. I'm here to learn from all of you. 💗
Great video Angie!! I recently purchased and am loving the DEEP CLEANSING OIL by DHC off Amazon. Just wondering what your thoughts were on this product. Not as effective as the Clinique balm for eye makeup but for everyday application it’s great for me. Thanks again and I’m waiting for my brushes to arrive!!!
Thank you for reminding me to refill my humidifier lol.
Also, do you find that your laundry detergent has an effect on how dry your skin gets, especially in the winter? Do you use a certain brand of laundry detergent that is effective yet gentle on clothes/skin? Thank you for your suggestions 🙂
Hey Angie, have you tried this? I'd love to know if it really does what it says, but so nervous to waste money on yet another flop of a product. It's called EELHOE Collagen, link below.
I have been doing a "pits and bits" shower usually every other day, sometimes more and a full body lathering usually only 3 days a week for years unless it's super hot and humid outside. If I'm not going out after my shower, I don't towel off and use a body oil on my still wet skin instead of a body lotion.
Angie* I have enjoyed your videos for years* You keep me in touch with the latest beauty, aging skin tools, and like to hear what you eat,, and what the latest jeans I might like to try.. etc..need to pay attention to my hydration!* I have recently purchased few choices, have not been thrilled.. now I have seen your video here, and have purchased a few of your recommendations* I am so happy I did – right away, "hands down, spot on" – these are MUCH better choices for my 2023* ~ I got the Pacifica barrier creme for morning* I got the Elf Holy Hydration – yummy hydration and love that it has the hyaluronic acid and peptides ! And also purchased the Derma-E for skin relief care~ soo delicious, love the tree oil smells- AND picked up this Babo Botanicals Sheer Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50!!! I have a a few sunscreen products and all but 1 gives that white coverage~ not a fan..nice to have this sheer SPF50 * Now living in mountain/ocean weather, am outside every day walking or hiking right now in this winter cold, I'm seeing my face skin is doing its sun freckling, roseacea thing.. with some of that not quite tan coloring happening.. am thrilled to try this new sheer SPF50* So far I'm feeling super hydrated and sun protected* BTW everything you are doing is working* I would love YOUR JOB* <smile> ;->
Hi Angie friends, I very rarely comment on videos, but the video about dry winter skin I left a very lengthy comment (below). Does anyone have any ideas of a better way to contact Angie so she will see this comment? I really need some answers. Thank you! ❤️ Dorothy Anderson
Angie, do you have another recommendation for a barrier cream? Pacifica Vegan Ceramide Barrier Cream looks great except that it contains Oats, that won't work for my GF allergy. I love the price point of the Pacifica cream. Thanks so much!
Hi Angie!! I tried a sample size of Agency Products after you recommended them in a past video. What a great product! I'm 54 going on 55 (tomorrow, in fact) and I really needed to nail down a skin care routine, so thank you! When I have a question concerning skin care, makeup or fashion I immediately go to your channel. Your suggestions are just the best!! All the best to you!
Angie Im 63 and as I went through menopause I find my private parts are getting irritated with regular soap, sorry I don’t know I to say it. Is there a good soap or gel for private parts. Thank You ❤

Unless you are working in a coalmine or a sewer you really do not need to shower everyday.
Picked up the Derma E sensitive skin cleanser today. Hoping for great results. Will slowly add your other recommendations. Great videos thank you so much.
Thanks Angie
as i watch, my humidity is 20%……
Thanks Angie you're are so much help to me

Another fabulous informative video! Been following you for 9 years Angie – you started the Over 50 skincare trend on here – others followed! ❤

I bought A La Maison handsoap about a month ago, and it's incredible. I have sensitive skin, and this soap cleans well without drying or irritating.
That French hand soap looks yummy and so glad they sell refills so I don’t have to but all their plastic bottles 👍
Thank you Angie!
Hi Angie , can you do a drugstore make up and skin products for mature skin please
Hi Angie, the supplement is currently unavailable on Amazon. Where else can I get it? Thanks!
The alpha lost ion is SO thick it is hard to get out of the bottle. Anyone have a tip to get it out?
I so needed to see this today Angie!
Angie I LOVE U !! U R an A in my book. However, Must say this, it's time to Cut The Hair!! At least 6"

Do you suggest a separate humidifier even if you already have a humidifier attached to the furnace?

Hello Angie, wondering if you use a makeup primer before applying foundation. And what do you recommend I'm over 50 with larger pores. Thank you.

How do you keep your nylon scrub cloth clean? thank you
Thank you for sharing this with us! I have always had dry skin and it is just getting drier! Using these tips tonight ❤
