I live in North Texas and I have experienced it also!! It is so hard to make friends and you feel like you have to put yourself into such a small box to fit in with a lot of the other women who will be so passive aggressive and hurtful if you are not a carbon copy and it breaks my heart.
Hey Katie, I watch your videos from India where I currently live. I am truly inspired by your creations. I started making soaps during the pandemic and so am still fairly new at this. Anyway the real reason I am writing today is that I was in Hawaii about a month ago too -we went to Maui. I completely understand how much it has impacted you because I too, did not want my tan or memories to fade when we got back. I LOVED it. I am from the Caribbean so island living is my jam and while I love my home, there is justsomething so wonderful about Hawaii. Maui – we stayed in Waikea – was so interesting because we explored parts of the island that were so cool in temperature the houses had chimneys. Anyway, I just wanted you to know I completely get your aloha for Hawaii. Anyway, thanks for doing such a wonderful job on the videos.
I have been watching you for years and the long forms will always be my favorite. I have watched you through multiple times being on bed rest. I have watched you through my actual labors. I have watched you while breastfeeding my babies and now I watch you on. My babies are playing in the pool at please keep the long form and please keep telling me the stories. Also the mean girl thing is totally true ! I live in Texas as well and I hardly ever meet women that are actually uplifting. I have met a new lady through my son's baseball and she invited me out with some of her friends and their kids and they were the nicest group of ladies and it was such a nice change. Katie, I was always super thin. Even after I had two children. Soon after I was diagnosed with lupus and the steroids and medication made me gain 60+ lbs. it was hard because I ended up with diabetes. Lately I lost the 60 lbs and the drs are now testing me on the massive weight loss. Itโs been a hard ride with my illness. My main concern is my mental health at the moment. I no longer focus on my weight. My health and mental health means the most to me! I now get to buy clothes often. If they donโt fit, I donate them. ๐๐๐

I have three teen boys so this summer is the summer of college visits!! We are visiting lots of universities to see where my boys would like to attend in a few years. One son will be a junior in the fall and the other son just graduated from high school and is attending community college. So the two of them have a lot of decisions to make! Our big trip will be to go to the upper peninsula of Michigan to check out Michigan Tech. It is an 8 1/2 hour drive from our house. But, there are lots of outdoors things to do up there so I am excited to visit! We will also visit Mackinaw Island on our way too. It is an island that does not allow cars and the only way to get there is by boat!!! So much fun!!! Have a wonderful summer!!!

We are currently on holiday in Wales and we have been driving the Snowdonian and Elan Mountains. Wow wee, with the sheep, massive drops and clouds that cover and light the mountains, its just just so beautiful. As for the rain, we have had sunshine for the majority but when it does rain, it makes for a wonderful woodburner fire, candles and lamps. Beautiful atmosphere. I love when the girls and us have been to woods to collect fircones and wood for the fire. So grounding ๐
On the note of the ladies being unkind, I have taught my girls that no matter how you feel, you are always polite, and that includes their words and their faces.

Aw Katie, I live in Texas but much further south; about 45 mins from Galveston. And girls treat each other so different here. Especially as adults, I as a plus size woman have never had another woman treat me so nasty. Iโm so sorry that you donโt have more girl love up there in the north. You of all people deserve it!! We live close probably, I live in a small town outside Ft. Worth and I don't like it at all. It is so different from South Texas where I come from. People are so scandalous, mean, and rude. I was at the time, working at a financial institute and a customer came in about a loan and said she was going to cut my hair and sell it to a wig shop! I stopped being nice, the only way to live here is by being jaded.

As a Katie from a small town in northern Texas who was overweight most of her life and entire childhood, I can confirm, this woman speaks truth. I left Texas and have only returned to help my parents move and visit my grandmother. Just being back in Texas for those few days was enough to trigger a major relapse in my depression. Could not get out of there fast enough. Not to say there are not lovely people there, because there are many. It's just that the few who are not are louder and drown out the good sometimes. I have made it my mission to be better and do better and share love and kindness. This world is rough, no need to make it harder on anyone.

The first time I watched one of your videos I was excited to see someone who was both super pretty and super relatable just chatting while making your soap. I agree people and Hawaii is the best place on earth. I went to Oahu in December with my family. My grandson who is 7 has been there twice with us and he talks every week about going there again
