  1. The rose and lavender scents are lovely. Bit of a warning; don't use the lavender one if you're showering before work b/c it WILL make you sleepy :p.

  2. I am a dedicated Dr bronner fan. if you find it cost prohibitive you should use the liquid! you can dilute it over half and half and still get great results and also cuts down on drying out the skin. it also saves money when you use it all over you body and for household cleaning….floors dishes laundry…make a 32 oz spray bottle with a teaspoon is soap and top off with water to spray and wipe the kitchen and bathroom. it saves buying all those other cleaners and your house will be naturally fresh and clean and it will smell soooooo good
without febreze and candles and all that. Dr bronners is an essential in my house! cheap is too expensive!

if you are a dedicated bar soap person just put it up out of the goop and water so it does not melt.

  3. Dr. Bronner's is my favorite company, hands down. I love their castile soaps, their lavender coconut lotion, their bar soaps, etc. Everything they make is very high quality, non-toxic, and smells great.

  4. One of the things I like most about Dr. Bronner's soaps (especially the unscented liquid castile) is that they rinse off more quickly, which saves water. I like to conserve water both for financial and environmental reasons. I'd be curious to know if this is something you evaluate amongst the different kinds of soaps you try. I don't like soaps that take a lot of time to rinse off. I think it's something that's less noticeable when showering vs. when simply washing your hands.

  5. Why isn’t this good for sensitive skin? I love the cooling tingly feel of peppermint on my face ☺️

  6. This soap is great 👍 I use it ,and I shower my dogs with it as well especially the peppermint ! The fleas really like that one lol

  7. I used this on my face was good didn't dry it out rubbed coconut into my damp face afterwards pat it dry works great

  8. Should be great for washing up in the woods camping then? I don't like to leave a negative print when I camp out

  9. Kroger carries it for $3.49 without a coupon — I love this soap, it lathers good, have used Castile type soap along with glycerin soaps (the clear bar types like Pears or Nutrogena (spelled wrong) brands. I don’t find it to be strong nor drying and it rinses well. Castile soap is known for: Gentle cleanse without the toxins. …Safe for sensitive skin. …It can help oily, acne-prone skin. …Smooth and soothe dry, irritated skin. …Naturally hydrating. …No gunked up pores. …Natural free radical protection. …Ease eczema, psoriasis & more.

Dermatologist recommended it and also the glycerin years ago.

In terms of long use – I keep mine on an old microwaved buff-puff sitting in the sunny bathroom (in my shower) window. I do the same with a friend’s homemade goats milk soap so it can “cure” well and last longer. When you make home made soap fresh, it has to sit for months to cure so it will last. And like all soaps, it must be kept dry – don’t let it sit in a dish that accumulates moisture. Either use one with holes which I find messy or sit it on a nylon type sponge that dries fast. Castile soap is made exclusively with vegetable oils. There will be no lard, tallow, or other animal fats in a Castile soap. Traditionally, a Castile soap was made with 100% olive oil and from Spain which is where its name came from but modern Castile-style soaps, including Dr. Bronner's, blend in other vegetable oils coconut, almond, hemp, etc but also use essential oils like lemon, lime, tea tree, etc. Note each one has a different combination of oils and scents but there is a completely scent free if smells bother you — look for the Baby one.

This particular bar ingredients is made with: Organic Coconut Oil*, Organic Palm Oil*, Sodium Hydroxide**, Water, Organic Olive Oil*, Mentha Arvensis, Organic Hemp Oil, Organic Jojoba Oil, Mentha Piperita, Sea Salt, Citric Acid, Tocopherol. *CERTIFIED FAIR TRADE INGREDIENTS
**None remains after saponifying oils into soap & glycerin. Without saponification, you won’t get soap – you’d just have oil.

I want to say something about soaps made with lard (tallow). Some “vegetable” only based soap brands want you to think this is bad or it’s cruel. Now if you think eating meat is bad – well them it must be. But for people who eat meat as we have for thousands+ of years – lard is a by-product of the hog industry. They aren’t killed just for lard which had many survival uses. Soap — any and every soap — is made from lye and a fat source – and afternoon saponification – the lye is gone and you only have the benefits of the oil or fat source along with the suds. Hard soaps lather a little less than soft but I find when using a nylon scrubby they provide plenty of lather. Some of the best made soaps are french milled hard soaps which last a long time.

My suggestion is to go to the Dr Bonner’s website to check out all their products. Their soap comes in liquid and bar ..I find the liquid to be more economical and you can get a small bottle with a tip on the end…just cut a little hole and then squeeze it on your scrubby ..it will go a very long way. It comes in different scents, and in tea tree, etc. The liquid comes in 2oz to 32 Oz. I have a quart bottle – it is on about 2 years – you only need a tiny bit on nylon . Below is the link to the “dilution cheat sheet” on the liquid as it is highly concentrated. And it can be used for your body to washing the floors.

I use a hand held scrubby along with my new favorite – Salux Japanese bathing clothes (they come in Super Hard, then a #100, #200, #300) and in all different colors. I have one of each and don’t see all that much difference between them – it’s your pressure as you slide them across your back and body that makes the biggest difference. Just make sure you are getting the real thing – not some fake. They are just about the right length though with very stiff shoulders – about 6-8” more would be nice but 35” (90 cm) works. Note – only buy those that you can see the model # 100, 200, 300 or the Super Hard and you can see the Salux name and is packaged. Don’t pay attention to colors because the colors are available across the line – look for the #100 etc. The #100 is the softest and super hard is the most aggressive. I love any of them but as I said – it really depends on how hard you use them. I use dry as in dry brushing and then wet with soap. And using with Dr Bonner’s soaps is terrific – bar or liquid.

They say they have a 100% cotton and a 100% silk but I haven’t tried those. I love my all medium to large natural sea sponge which when wet is like silk in your skin. I also like these nylon Japanese scrub sheet because they don’t hold bacteria, odors, rinse extremely quick and dry super fast. I have a handheld nylon scrubby – don’t remember the name and the issue is the scrubby part is nylon but the backing has a cotton outside layer with foam on the inside and a canvas strap — the nylon rinses and dries fast – the rest doesn’t and gets an odor 😖🤬 so I end up with it in the washing machine or the microwave.

  10. I’m just trying it, about to use it for the first time. I figured it would be great for acne! I really hope it works

  11. Peppermint soap is great during the summer. It gives you a cooling sensation when it’s like 90 degrees outside.

  12. 10/10

made it feel like I smoked a menthol ciggie with my ass

  13. Just started using Dr. Bronner's last week. I love the unscented baby soap. It works wonders. I love how it literally has my body feeling squeaky clean. I just purchased the peppermint soap today. I also love the fact that it lathers very good, unlock other soaps.

  14. I will thought this soap was for multiple uses. He is only talking about using it for showering or bathing. The people who do these reviews don't seem so credible.
