  1. i had the exact same realization about a year back– that i was buying way out of my means and getting way too hoarder-y. i'm still a lowkey hoarder but only for kitchen stuff and stuff getting discon'd, but my limit will always be 5 instead of 10 now (for favourites such as happy pill bath bomb, and fizzbanger~)

  2. Admittedly I saw this video in my recommended section and kinda hoped there would be Lush drama, but this video is very endearing

and I suggest that if you do want to get rid of unopened stash bits, see if a local homeless shelter will take them so they'll be put to good use by people who need them, that would probably get a little bit of cheer and/or comfort from a nice smelling shower gel

  3. What a great and grown up attitude! This is one of the reasons why I struggle with buying Lush – I really dislike the temptations of kitchen. I cannot afford to keep buying from them every week and I don't want to pile up products on the shelfs. I am giving myself a slight Lush detox, as them cancelling some of my favourite products gave me a big wakeup call – I can have a favourite product, but likely it will be discontinued at some point. So I still have what I had and I am using it up, I might buy new bath bomb here and there, but I don't want my happiness to be dependent on Lush products and I am not going to feel bad for not ordering that one rare thing from the kitchen (last time I done that it was the cheer up buttercup and rocket science which are now available in stores anyway 😀 ). Good luck on your journey and hope you will feel better soon 🙂

  4. Nice video! You look a lot healthyer (sorry for the spelling, it's evening and I'm from holland) then a few months ago. I love your video's and how you explan this is very clear! And your helping me as wel with your beautifull life lessons. I think that your really helping me. Thans you so much!😙

  5. I can relate, I dug out bath bombs that I purchased 2 years ago Christmas time,, lost most of their scent,, didn't perform the way they normally would in water, and I felt it was a waste. You cannot take it with you with you die,, and they are meant to be used. Now I use them with ease,, and don't worry about "saving" ,, if they come up again and I am out,, I may buy one,, but if they don't,, I'm not going to die without it.

  6. We must be on the same thing! I decided that a huge destash is in my future also. I want to have more money to travel and spend time out with friends. I have been meditating more and realizing I spent too much to fill a hole in me that could be filled with more fun hobbies and creating art! love your videos. thanks!

  7. Why not do a giveaways to your fans or donate to shelters or both with your lush collection? It may be a way for you to give back to your community and may allow you to relax and feel fulfilled. Taking a step back and taking care of yourself is so awesome! Hang in there you will find your path. <3 <3 <3

  8. I think a million of those blog views were from me. Health is the most important thing in the world. I get reminded of that when I get really sick. Like recently. There is nothing you can do when sick and nothing you can think of except to get well at the time. Love is important too. All my best.

  9. I do the exact same thing! I buy things to buy things to fill some kind of voix but after i bought it its not like i feel fulfilled. I just keep going. I am going to start dealing with my problem as well…i am going to keep purging and getting rid of stuff. Materials dont matter! U rock! Loved this video

  10. That's what i never understood about Lush Collections! Because they have an expiry date and even if i have lots of Lush products, they are all for different things. So i could never understand how people had so many shower gels etc.. I also cannot have bath bombs or bubble bars as I love them and I use them instantly.

  11. I like the premise of your channel so much. I have officially subscribed so I can have some lush in my sub box more often

  12. having that possession =/= happiness realisation is pretty awesome. it makes you appreciate time more. its my birthday today and when people have asked me what i'd like for it/ what i want to do i haven't had anything to say to them, not wholly for the realisation (part of me is sad about the change of situation this year) instead rather than asking for 'stuff' asked for yearly tickets to places as i've just learnt to drive so want places i can go so long as the car is fuelled just so i'm not moping at home on days off. its so much better now rather than having an addiction to waiting for the postman. i wish i'd realised it before the 'change in situation'

  13. I'm so happy for you, you seem so enthusiastic and happy, i love your videos too ❤

  14. I have done the same lately, sold things I didn't use, stopped spending silly amounts each week

  15. my mum is a teacher for year 1 she used to do year 6 she is always quite stressed so i realise the pressure on u

  16. It felt like this video was a long time coming. I've noticed over the past year or so and I'm glad you're happy about the new direction your life is taking. Sometimes it's hard to enjoy things when there's too much of it and it's hard to appreciate them in that situation as well. I've experienced this a lot and I've gotten better, but it's definitely easy to slip back into old habits. I do hope you continue to make videos, because you have a very enjoyable sense of humor and your videos are fun. But they can be about anything really haha. Either way good luck!

  17. Everything makes sense to me now! I've been visiting your blog now and then (I love the list of products that smell the same!) and this video popped in my suggestions and I didn't connect the two dots till now! How stupid haha

  18. I appreciate that you told everyone about your situation and I feel you! I'm a LUSH fan. I know you if person. And I admire you. My friend is in your maths class and she said it's so much fun!!! Everyone loves your channel!!

  19. I agree with this so much with all the Lush I did this as stored it all up and kept loads and loads of items and most of them went mouldy, so not worth it and a waste of money. Lush got a hold of me and became an obsession too same I want to use the items I love and enjoy as I was not going that as was too scared to even open and use them .I made a change around 10 months back to do this and Lush is nice but at the end of the day is more impotent things in life as you say. To be honest I think Lush has gone down hill and is way too expensive now and sorry have to say I think they are too bug for their boots now. So right Jen I have moved on and can enjoy what little I have of lush left. All the best .xxxx

  20. It really doesn't sound like you are cut out for teaching. Try and find another career that will make you happy.

  21. I admire you so much. I really wanted to go into teaching because both my grandparents did teaching and I felt like I would be really good at it….but alas the process is ridiculous the courses and qualifications change all the time. Then you got Ofsted….which I won't even get into because they just make me angry. You don't get paid enough in my eye and honestly parents don't give teachers enough credit (and yes I am a parent of 2 boys). you not only have the pressure of the parents and your boss but also the system itself and the curriculum which is forever changing….jesus just writing this comment made me feel stressed!

  22. That is great to create a positive balance. Becoming a more minimalist person you will have so much more time and money to travel and create positive memories ☀️

  23. You Are Amazing! You are working in one of the most important and least appreciated careers in the world. Anything you need to do for yourself is well worth doing. You are obviously a person who has the ability to change lives. Maybe we have to go through things to be able to relate to people who can benefit from our stories. Your story is so important to someone like me who has surrounded herself with "stuff" trying to fill the empty spaces. Thank you for taking the time to post this video in particular. It has made a difference in at least one life…mine.
I hope you're well and I hope you had a wonderful time on holiday.

  24. I know exactly how you feel because I have been a teacher and it wears you out physically and mentally and dealing with kids everyday, well…I'm not going back to it and I have done the work to keep a license in Virginia in the US for about thirty years. I have no patience for it anymore or the strength. I learned in working in a military day care center to take care of myself first because they would use me up and I would be on death's door and they would just hire a new person and use them up. So… even though I loved working and teaching Kindergarten and prek, it was killing me. I was sick every other month. Anyway….You are on the right track. I knew nothing about lush until I saw it on youtube. I bet those sales people loved seeing you coming. They didn't have to pressure you to sell stuff. I hear it is a good product. But I would never go into a store where there is so much pressure on the sales people to sell. I am glad to hear you are getting out of debt. People and experiences are the most important, not things and not lush. I collected books. At one point in time I read a lot but after I got a computer, that's where I stopped. We all have those things we love and have more of than we really need. Our needs and wants are two different things. I wish you luck in your endeavor to pursue your dreams and the important things in life.

  25. Thank you so much for posting this. I'm a relatively new lushie (three years in). I found myself going down a similar road that you describe and I really really appreciate the reality check. Like you I don't judge anyone for having a lush collection or spending their money on it (there are far far worse ways to spend your money that have no positive outcome on the world). But I've had to work to not feel the jealousy of others collections. I've had some serious life changes over the last six months and it's meant that I can't spend nearly as much as I was on Lush products. I still love them, I still love learning about them and giving them as gifts to my very favorite people. But, I don't want to hoard them the same way that I have been. You're right and they're best when used closer to the freshness date. It's also about me being more honest about which products I truly love and would want any quantity of out of use (I'm looking at you Mamma Mia scrub, my new true love.) Thank you for being so honest and open with us. It really helped me 🙂
