While I believe there’s an important place for both detox juices and smoothies in your life, neither are miracle cures. Moreover, a juice or smoothie cannot “detox” or “cleanse” your body in of itself. However, both can support your organs of detoxification. This is a key distinction. Your body naturally detoxes daily. Your liver, kidneys, lymphatic system, and skin are all involved in this process. But we live on a polluted planet. And as we age, our organs of detoxification don’t work as efficiently.

Equipment
I love my Omega Juicer (https://amzn.to/2SbVP8f) because it keeps it allows my juices to be cold-pressed. This is important in extending shelf-life and keeping those enzymes alive. This juicer also makes great nut butter!
I use my NutriBullet (https://amzn.to/2GqITnU) when I’m making a single-serving smoothie.
I use my Vitamix (https://amzn.to/2t4yMgE) when making my smoothies ahead of time. It’s one of the best investments I’ve ever made!
These are the best glass storage bottles (https://amzn.to/2t9EJsS) for both smoothies and juices, that I’ve ever used.
Smoothie Recipe
3 – packed cups of greens (spinach, baby kale, dandelion greens, etc.)
1 cup frozen pineapple
1 lemon, peeled and de-seeded
1 kiwi, peeled
2 tbsp hemp seeds
1 tsp Amla powder
Instructions
Place all the ingredients in the 64-ounce carriage of a high-speed blender. Add filtered water up to the 3/4 mark. Blend well.
Store
You can store in the fridge for up to 2 days. Shake well before consuming. Or you can add some crushed ice and re-blend.
Tip
I add ground flaxseed to a smoothie just before drinking. If you add it hours or days before drinking, it makes your smoothie a bit too gloopy!
Detox Juice
You can use any combo you please, but make sure that the fruit is only about 10% of the juice. Here’s a combo I love for my DIY Detox Juice Cleanse:
Swiss chard and/or Dandelion greens, fennel, celery, pear, ginger, and lemon.

Hi Sophie, I love this video! I have what is called non-alcoholic fatty liver(.NASH) I've decreased my sugar and carbs significantly but am very concerned about my liver enzmes. My ALT is elevated. Do you think this would help? It sounds like a no-brainer to me. Love your tips, videos, and books!!!

Love this video… ❤My husband and I, and even our 4 kids love to juice. When my husband tore his Achilles heel last Father's Day, the next day was actually the start of our 28 day juice challenge. I was so thankful that we were doing juicing diet because even the doctor was so amazed of how fast he healed. No exercise due to his leg injury but in 1 month he still lost almost 20 lbs. We still juice everyday and it's already part of our diet. Thank God for His creation and for providing us with super powerful and nutritious food to eat and drink…💕

I am very new to your channel. I am just 53 years old and starting that middle age spread around the middle and surprising weight gain. Thank you for your very informative videos. I am going to be taking your advice and starting a whole foods plant based diet. I was wondering if you are losing all of the benefits of the fibre as it is removed during the juicing process. My thought is that you are juicing to get the benefits of the minerals and vitamins and not the fibre. So drink the smoothies to get the benefits of both nutrients and fibre. Is that correct?
