Peace Family! I haven’t done a loc care video in a while. So, here we are! I have added a new cleansing product to my Loc care routine which is Dr. Sebi’s “Grow Beautiful” Seamoss Soap. I LOVE THIS SOAP because it adds the moisture back into my hair after using strong cleansers like Dr. Bronner’s Castille Soap which can strip the moisture out of your hair. In addition, there is Nettle in the soap which is an herb that promotes hair growth and strength. You can find the soap on https://sebisdaughters.com/shop-2/ The soap is only $12 and lasts about 7-10 thorough washes. Be sure to use a deep cleaning soap FIRST to remove build up and excess oil though. The seamoss soap is more of a moisturizing soap than a deep cleanser.
For deep cleaning, I use Dr. Bronner’s Castille soap. I prefer the liquid formula because it is easier to apply. I also prefer the circus because the scent is so pleasant and refreshing. In addition, I feel like the citrus, almond, and rose aren’t as harsh on my Locs as the peppermint and tea tree. BE SURE to dilute the liquid soap. This soap is very strong and must be diluted or it will cause breakage to your locs. I do at least 2 thorough washes with the castle soap before moving to the Seamoss soap.
When drying my locs, I allow them to drip dry or towel dry for about an hour before gently blow drying them with a blow dryer for about an hour. I used to be opposed to blow drying out of fear for heat damage, but I quickly had to add blow drying to my routine once my locs began taking longer than 24 hours to air dry during the colder months. You want to make sure your locs are thoroughly dry within 24 hour or you run the risk of mold and mildew in your docs which you don’t want! DRY THOROUGHLY!!
To moisturize my locs, I use an oil blend that I create myself. The recipe is in the video and in the photo section of my YouTube channel. I love this blend of oils because it doesn’t just sit on the hair like some other oils. It actually absorbs into the hair leaving my locs feeling soft and very moisturized. The next day there isn’t any oil residue on my scalp or on my locs. Again, the oil absorbs really well. I only oil my locs about twice a week. The heaviest oil session is always after a wash. About every 3 days I’ll lightly oil my locs again mainly focusing on the actual locs. Please listen closely to the tips I give about oiling locs during that section.
My last step of my loc care routine is the spiritual cleanse. As stated in the video, I use a variety of herbs to spiritually cleanse my hair, but for this full moon in Aries, I chose traditional white sage. After this video I gave my locs a full moon energy bath by standing directly under the moon light, smudging them some more, and speaking mantras into them. Listen closely to that section of the video to understand why we must spiritually clean our locs. You can use a variety of herbs and resins to do a spiritual cleanse. The choice is yours!
I hope this video is helpful family! Please LIKE, SHARE, AND SUBSCRIBE! Thank you for watching, and look forward to my very unique lint removal routine video coming very soon!

  1. This was the absolute best loc wash routine! Filled with love, this routine felt more like an honoring ceremony for your locs❣I randomly spiritual cleanse my locs, but I'm going to do so after my wash, now. Thank you for this video!

  2. Just washed my own freeform locs and did a liiiiittle separation, I find myself doing less and less each wash. This was incredibly relaxing! Loved seeing you put all your love and gentleness into your hair! I'm only almost 2 years in but I've also gone from bald to grazing a little past my shoulders in the back and getting to my shoulders on the sides/ hanging in my eyes in the front. It is such a joy to have them. 🥰
