Aluminum Free Deodorant Showdown: Old Spice Gentleman’s Blend Lavender and Mint Scent Deodorant Versus Dove Men+Care Extra Fresh Deodorant, Citrus Scent. Old spice is supposed to last 48 hours and Dove+Men Care is supposed to last 72 hours. I switched to aluminum free, because my old deodorant gave me a terrible rash. It’s active ingredient was aluminum. Good riddance! Old spice goes on clean. No white flaky mess. Dove goes on the same way. Both are clean. Which I like. Both also have a pleasant smell, but are not overpowering. I personally don’t need deodorant that smells like strong cologne. One morning, after showering, I put each deodorant under a single arm pit and went through my day. I went to bed that night and then woke up the next day. 24 hours had passed and both armpits still smelled good! Do I need to test these deodorants for 48 hours or 72 hours? No. I shower every day. 24 hours is plenty, so both of these aluminum free deodorants are winners in my book. What’s your favorite deodorant and why? Have you tried either one of these?
