    I've literally taken a navy shower for my whole life, because my parents don't like me to spend water and I was shocked when I learned that ppl actually soap their bodies without turning off the water

    You can save a lot of steps by using real soap. The stuff you buy at the store is not real soap. Real soap (*hot process soap* made with lard and lye) not only gives you a superior cleaning experience, but the lard (and other oils, but mostly the lard) naturally moisturizes, firms, and hydrates/nourishes the skin. Don't let anyone at the farmer's market fool you, and you probably can't trust mass produced "natural soap" at all…there's a huge difference between hot and cold process soap, and melt and pour is just plain garbage. But if you can get your hands on a bar of actual hot process soap, you will immediately notice a difference…and you will discover that all that crap you've been putting on your skin, along with those junk soaps from the store, have been leaving a nasty film on your body. I can promise you that once you get a bar of hot process, lard and lye soap (or tallow, for those of you who abstain from pork), you will never use anything else. Your skin will never feel cleaner, firmer, and softer. Bonus: we all know that, as you age, your skin thins out and wrinkles start taking hold. But with real, hot process soap, your skin regains it's firmness and fullness over time and you will actually see a noticeably more youthful epidermis when you look in the mirror. It's not going to roll the clock all the way back if you're – like – 80, but I'm pushing 50 and have the skin of a 20-something and the ONLY product that touches my skin is my own soap. Yeah, I'm a soap maker and that's why I know all this stuff, but I'm not here to peddle my wares. I'm just here for the PSA. Hot process soap, Gents. It's a life changer.

    I've been struggling for a few months about trying to get to work on time in the morning after hitting the gym before. I always seemed to be spending 15-20 minutes in the shower and would end up running late. Finally looked up how to shower effectively and found this video. The navy shower is so obvious but it sped up my shower immensely and I actually felt cleaner showering this way. Thank you for this video!

    Couldn’t you re-apply the polymer coating by spraying some sort of windshield glass chemicals?

    Unless you get extremely dirty or suffer from acne, you really don't need anything else besides your hands.
    Also during the winter, if you live in a cold climate, exfoliating your skin is a bad idea as it is likely give you problems with dry skin.

    After taking Navy showers on a sub, I'm not sure I want to continue doing so while not deployed. My shop has a tradition of the shower 6-pack, where your first shower off the boat doesn't end until you've finished the 6-pack (though I just get a small (350ml or so) bottle of liquor instead of beer).

    all my life i ever took a navy shower thats the only way of showering i know , what else is regular showering ?

    I spend 45 minutes in the shower but I can only use one big pail of water. I can save water and at the same time I am able to do my regimen. I use milk salt scrub and moisturize with lotion

    One last thing that was forgotten. Make sure you probably wash all the crevices as they are an enclosed moist area it will breed bacteria. It’s nothing wrong with going over them a few times such as behind the ears, the pits, belly button, groin, buttocks and the crack, toes and if you have more body weight clean under there as well. Nothing better than a man who smells good and is clean. 😊

    I have used lufas all my life and I finally started using just bar soap and washcloths. Honesty it changed the game for me. A rag gets in areas a lufa doesn’t and just cleans better. I can smell my soap on me for a long time after my shower when I use a washcloth. When I use anything else I don’t really smell it after the shower. Maybe because you’re really rubbing the soap in? I just think a washcloth is the way to go.

    After watching several videos from this channel, I realize that fear of femininity by men is what holding men back. Men that are afraid being judged as feminine prevents themselves to do things that can be beneficial to them, even as far as self-grooming

    How about instead of saying one is “showering wrong” you day, “consider some tips” or something along those lines? I dislike the “you’re doing it wrong” attitude if the intention is to educate.
