Broad spectrum preservative means it is effective against bacteria, mould and yeast.
🍀Bacteria
Although many bacteria that come into contact with the skin are made harmless, some of them can cause irritation and infection on the skin and even in the eyes.
🍀Mould
Mould is a type of fungus that is found in spoiled food. It is similar on cosmetics that have not been properly preserved or stored.
🍀Yeast
Certain yeasts are known to cause spoilage in the food industry, and the same is true for yeasts in cosmetics.
🍀When choosing your broad-spectrum preservative, you should also consider the pH value. Some preservatives are only effective when the pH of the product is acidic, others are effective at neutral pH and others at alkaline pH. There are also preservatives that are effective in a wide pH range, such as Liquid Germall Plus, Leucidal SF Max, Geogard 221(also known as costard) just to name a few

🍀The pH of the rice cream should be between 5 and 5.5.

  1. Hi! Can I add carbomer to this recipe since I'm going to use another liquid ingredient? And can I directly sell my homemade product after registering it legally?

  3. Hello Cecil, I'm thinking of trying this out but I wonder if it's possible to use shea butter or cocoa butter instead of aloe vera to longer the shelf life without using preservatives? Is it possible even the rice starch extracted with water-but dried from the sun anyway
