When shopping for gear everyone goes straight to the cool stuff like knives, flashlights, and backpacks. However, quality hygiene products are just as important because you’ll be using them everyday.
Dr. Bronner’s magic soap is an excellent organic alternative to many of the standard soaps you’ll find in the supermarket isle. After using it for the past several weeks I’ve found it to be an excellent product.

Some observations while using this soap include:
– Organic and Free Trade
– Great as a body wash. Cleans thoroughly with no oily film afterwards.
– A little strong for a shampoo. Dilute it if possible and purchase a separate conditioner (also sold by Dr. Bronner’s).
– Works well as a detergent for laundry. Just make sure to use it sparingly since it tends to lather easily and might leave some some after you rinse.
– As a toothpaste…um…it cleans but I’ll stick to the taste of my Toms of Maine.
– I love the quirky packaging. It reminds me of those snake-oil salesmen ads from the 1800s.
– A little more expensive than other soaps. This is tempered by the fact that it is so versatile and you can purchase it on sale through various retailers and online sources.

  1. My parents supply Dr Bronner's soaps with their bottles and do a lot of business with them, we visited them this past weekend and the whole family is great and laid back, the Bronners family is the most kindest and loving people you could meet. My parents do the business with mostly David and Micheal Bronner right now. (Which by the way are the children of Jim Bronner)

  2. Castile soap has quite a bit of glycerin in it. It's produced by the saponification process.

  3. Have you use the SHIKAKAI ORGANIC dr bronners soaps?, is it as good as the regular castille soaps??, which scent is the best or does the different scents have different benefits or are all the same? can it be use for washing your face?, Thanks so much for the video and the review it was very informative!!

  5. I've taken a bar of Dr. Bronner's, and made it into a gallon of liquid soap. It's less runny than the actual liquid soap, but it still works well.

  6. Costco is selling the big size bottle of pepp scent for like 10 bucks. I think it's 32 oz.

  7. I purchased the lavender liquid soap and the peppermint reg soap. Both work well. And they clean the hell outta you.

  8. Love Bronner's peppermint liquid soap…used it for decades…seems like a humanitarian owner as well. Best deal by far is found at Costco where the large bottles are available for not 14 bucks but less than ten bucks….just saw them there yesterday.

  9. It smells mostly like the fragrance, until you use it and then it smells like a mixture of sick baby urine and pooh diaper and rotting placenta, that's for the bar soap.

  10. Maybe he went to the insane hospital to harvest placentas from his own children??!

  11. OMG! This was the ONLY soap product that CURED pimples on Teen faces in the 1970's! No one complained that you always smelled like peppermint… I have loved this Magic Elixir since 1972!!!
