Are you going to show us how you make your soap 🧼?
Melody, You are my bestfriend and you don’t even know it. Lol
This is super relevant to me right now!:) I tend to pile up stuff by my sleeping areas.
I write "sleeping areas", because I have two: one in the living room, one in the garage. I sleep in recliners, not in a bed. I just feel safer that way. Childhood trauma.
Both areas tend to be dumping ground for anything I drag home. I have a friend who picks up free newspapers for me, and sometimes, there's quite a stack! I can't read them all immediately, so they tend to pile up. I hate that! But I don't want to stop receiving these! I have to stay informed.
I actually have two nightstands by my living room recliner. One is a funky round table my ex wife and I picked up at the Tides Resort on their closing auction. It was made in house and consists of a large inverted flower pot and a laminated wood top in coral blue. The other is a unique piece my aunt found somewhere that has a marble top with a lamp stand through the center.
I know, you like things floating, and these are very earth centric pieces. But hey, I'm a tree man. I am most comfortable when things are rooted, y'know?:)
They are also both round, which is a symbol of completion for me.
The garage recliner is adjacent to a rescued coffee table on one side, and my fridge on the other. This is where I usually read my newspapers while listening to music or NPR on my digital radio. My foolish dog and silly cats often keep me company and I can look out at the lush green chaos that is my yard.:)
Still, I try to keep things as organized as possible. I really appreciate your differing perspective on comfort and utility. I get really frustrated when I can't find something! Your tips help bring me back to center. Thanks, Melody.:)
The favorite clips of Miss Pat are in this video and the one in Oct titled 25 fewer things no longer bought.
Where are your nightstands from??!!
Nice job on the floating nightstand! I like the floating concept, because like you've said, it makes it easier to clean under with the vacuum. I keep tissues, a book, chapstick, handcream, tiny flashlight inside the drawer of my nightstand. On top, I keep a touch lamp & a glass of water. TFS
Thank you! Last night my hand was in the nightstand drawer looking for my pink earplugs I bought because you recommended them. Couldn’t find them even though there are only 2 things in there. Had they been in a jar like yours I could have located them. Before the pink ones I had to give up on earplugs because they were too big for my ears. The smaller ones work great! Last Christmas I was so successful at buying gifts because of you too. Thanks again!
Nice video ^^
Melody please do a video all on Patt!
I’d love to see how you’ve updated your clothes closet.
The nightstand turned out great with the dark interior. The lower shelf is so useful. I have a dreams dictionary and water close by.
Love these tips girl!
Careful, aleve is bad for the liver if taken too much
Melody, you don't have the simple brief blog anymore?
I have a sticky back hooks on side of my bedside table to rest my cords on. Xx but my bedside table gets very messy as I’ve lots of tablets and my asthma medication and lots of books etc
Love seeing your floating night stand! Do you think you might consider marketing/selling the plans/specs for your design, possibly on Etsy? I'm sure there would be quite an interest for them 🙂 Great organization ideas and book recommendations, as always. Thank you Melody!
love your nightstand. carries only the necessities and its so organized. i love how it floats too so easy to clean under!
nose spray – tissues – lip balm – nail clipper – remote (velcroed to table) happy light, water, diffuser, echo
Your nightstand is definitely inspirational! Can you show us what you do for cat shelving/toys/beds for miss pat?
Where did you get your clear pill bottles?
Hi Melody we enjoyed your video.we also have a floating nightstand.
Definitely in the market to DIY or find a small nightstand that holds a lamp (I have two wooden geometric ones that I am in love with). I love the floating idea but don’t know if I can swing that in a rental. Right now I’m using two wooden crates stacked up from Michaels and they feel huge!
Phew thanks for again a great insightful vid. I am doing a few courses and already feeling a bit overwhelmed by the different notebooks. But getting there at minimalism everywhere with babysteps.
Do you read ur comments? Do u ever answer?
That nightstand is so fantastic
Im so minimalist, i got rid of my nightstand. 😑
I have nightstands that have no drawers so I can't keep any clutter. On the top I have a very small basket with a lip balm, phone charger, and ear plugs! lol hard to sleep without them when someone is "sawing logs" beside you all night. Happy Holidays!
Going to college? How old are you?
