Need a recipe for homemade hand cream to soothe dry winter skin? Here’s my favorite blend of butters and oils to moisturize:

Homemade Hand Cream Recipe:

ingredients

3 ounces coconut oil (cheaper in bulk: https://amzn.to/2sMg6p7)
1.75 ounces mango butter (available here: https://amzn.to/2LosNgq)
1 ounce olive oil
0. 125 ounces beeswax (I like these white pellets: https://amzn.to/2rRsnrP)

instructions

1. Melt the oil, butter, and beeswax in a double boiler set over low heat.

2. Remove from the heat and add the fragrance oil and essential oil, if using. Stir well until fully combined.

3. Set on the counter to cool at room temperature until solidified, at least 4 hours, or overnight (or fridge for 2 hours, or freezer for 30 minutes)

4. Whip until white fluffy using electric mixer, about ten minutes. If consistency does not change after whipping, place the oils in the fridge for 15 minutes and try again.

5. Store in clean container at room temperature. May melt if stored above 80 degrees.

notes

If you don’t have a double boiler, just use a glass on stainless bowl set over a pan with one inch of water.

If your house is very warm, you can store this in the fridge.

If you just want a moisturizing balm, there is no need to whip. Simply melt, mix, and store!

  1. It’s still safe to use on the rest of your body right?? Just trying to make sure 😬

  2. I wonder is whipping necessary? i saw videos without the whipping process. What difference does it make?

  3. This looks amazing! I plan on using
    Shea Butter 50g
    Beeswax 7g
    Coconut Oil 30ml
    Olive Oil 30ml
    Essential Oil 1 drop
I reduced the oil because I am in a tropical country. Would it still work?

  4. Thank you for the very nice recipes. I made this recipe but color of the cream has become light grey instead of white. Is it normal?

  5. In the description box it says 0.125 ounces of beeswax but as your measuring you say .25 ounces beeswax, which one?

  6. This product https://amzn.to/31IZSvF is absolutely amazing. I love everything about it. My hands get so dry from my job and just from the winter time being brutally dry where I live. The cream is not vegan and has milk, which is something I didn't notice myself until after I used it. Also, It Is amazing as a gift. I recommend it

  7. Basic formula:
    4 oz Oil
    1.75 oz Butter
    0.125 oz Beeswax
    Combine with heat.
Optional: add essential oil after it cools down.
    Whip it.

  8. Thank you so much I was searching a cream for a long time , Finally I found it again thank you 😊❤
    I'm so happy😁😁

  9. The recipe is GREAT👍
I’ve made it and was great. My husband and I love it. I wanted to make it again and had a trouble to whip it. Didn’t want to , was so liquid?! First time I’ve put Shea butter, now I’ve put mango butter.
    What was wrong?😱

  10. Good to acknowledge, to let mixture cool before adding essential oils , so not to destroy their properties. Thanks for recipe.

  11. So when making this lotion and a fragrance oil is added that has vanillin in it, will it make it turn brown? Will I need to add a vanillin stabilizer?

  12. Can I use oils from get suckered or any fragrance oil in my cream or does it have to be essential oils

  13. could this be achieved with out the mango butter? and replace with more coconut oil please.

  14. When your adding the essential oils could I add something like vitamin e or should I add that with the other oils?

  15. This looks like a wonderful mix. I was looking for something that didn't have scents because of my sinuses, so sensitive to fragrance. I went out and bought at the second hand store a pot, plastic spoons and spatula's for making this. I had made a eucalyptus night stand ointment for some friends, my spatula smells like eucalyptus lolololol. If I want a longer shelf life, do you think that maybe 8-10 drops of vit E oil might do this? Anyway, happy to have found you. New sub. Stay blessed.

  16. did i write it correctly: 3 oz coconut oil, 1.75 oz mango butter 1 oz olive oil 0.24 beeswax?

  17. Thanks for the recipe! Can’t wait to try it.

    For the non-freedom unit inclined:

    115 grams oil
    50 grams of butter
    3,5 grams of beeswax

    Heat/melt

Few drops of essential oil of choice

    Whip

  18. I really want to try this but are their any other alternative to mango butter or shea butter?
