We begin refurbishing parts to go back on our Range Rover chassis once it’s ready. Having stripped the Rot-Rover bare, the exciting part of the process is about to begin. The first job is to strip down and examine the axles and differentials for excess wear and tear. Will there be anything worth salvaging?

Guess I'll unsubscribe didn't know this channel is bought and paid for by a all red tool company that's wholly owned by ccp
Still don't have proper oil disposal equipment. Im so sad. Please, manufacturers, help a show out.
The owner of this thing obviously did not take care of it back then. What makes you think he will in future? I still find the video entertaining. Watching Edd do his thing has always been fun.
good blog edd Gary from Crewe
Had to do this to my rear jeep axle Dana 35. new seals and went ahead with new bearings as well.
ciaooo sei forte quando vieni a farti un giro in italia qui sei amato da molti
So much better without the BS session in the middle.
This is what we like to see…
Very similar to a Ford 9.
lovely shim
You should remove the fill plug so the oild doesn't chug out.
Did you use a torque stick to undo the bolts on the rear axle?
Hiya Edd
When Edd left the show so did I, as I didn't think ant was even half as good as Edd on a lot of things.
ED, I love your t shirts, man.
What a fantastically clean workshop 👍.
Really enjoyed this epidode. Took a few goes to stop the video on the flash shim comment. though…….
Hola 👋 Edd!!! No tienen están más subtitulados tus vídeos; porqué?
¡¡ Éste es un video que no aporta nada… y es aburrido…!!
How have they got the nerve to call them quality parts for Land-Rovers! mostly they don't fit and if they do they don't function properly.
To check the half shafts correctly one should crack detect the wear step on the splines which is where a fatique crack starts—- this is what causes them to fail.
The pinion bearing shims have worn to allow the pinion to move out of engagement with the crown wheel hence the increased backlash.
If I were you ED, I would check the new diffs with engineers blue on the pinion & crown wheel teeth to see that they mesh correctly & that there are no tight spots. Do a hardness check on the teeth too.
Great. Back to the old Ed formula. Plodding through a viewer applicable job. Much better than the novelty shows of Mini bikes and coffee chats etc IMHO.
fairly surprised you hadn't cleaned all this with a laser beforehand. What a toy!
Very interesting, ive never had to repair a land rover axle despite having been a mechanic for over 20 years, i always did wonder how the swivel joints worked.
all hail Edd!
Hi Edd. Stupid Q from a complete novice. Do all cars have swivel joints on the front wheels for steering or is that unique to Land Rover? I was shocked to see a swivel joint – I wasn’t expecting to see that. Cheers, Gaffers
I know time moves on. Edd and Mike had a magic persona . That was good to watch Wheeler dealers. I don't bother to watch Wheeler dealers anymore, the magic has gone.
you are talking very faat. good video.
Hi Ed…have you ever in your life brushed your hair?
What is happening to your show it’s all over the place, no consistency come on Edd people are interested? You started with something get on with it.
brilliant video .
reminds me of pulling the front beam apart on my p76 after breaking a pinion gear in half makes me sad i no longer have it man they are good off road
When translating to the Dutch language! Seal is pakking, zeehond is wrong translation. Right is right. Not rechts. Right and left is rechts and links. But Right as in oke is even by us right. And i love your shows. And i hope the Land Rover will be fully restored.
I’ve seen diff oil so dirty, what’s going on here, looks like old engine oil !
Eres el 1 Edad !
Y de paso ampliamos nuestro conocimientos .
No es solo sentarse a conducir un vehículo.
Saludos….
As a WD viewer from Arizona for 20 years, I am continually amazed at the state of "bits under the bonnet" and the condition of the frame and drive train. It's as though all vehicles are required to bash through a half mile of surf on Brighton Beach en route to and from annual MOT inspections. I know it rains in the UK but, hokey smokes, hasn't anyone thought of better corrosion control methods? OK, so this tub is well over 30 years of age and has had a hard life as a part time submarine… I hope the owner's piggy bank is full to the brim. This here is what we call a "pro-ject."
Loved the Greek music. Thanks to the lad who chose that. 🙏
Excellent!
is been 2 months, is axles ok?
Land Rovers and I think are the same as the Range Rovers are notorious for braking the axels off road so I would replace the axels with a Crome molly axels.
I have found out that it’s not easy to work on anything British.
Starting to look really trick
Crazy how long it takes to fix a car. How many things were wrong.
Personally I preferred the previous intro with the musical hammering – but that's just me. 😁
EDD CHINA LIVING LEGEND
You should work only on BRITISH CARS … Aston Martin, Bentley, Jaguar, Lotus, MG, Mini, Morgan, Range Rover …

Very nice touch of bouzouki at 6:29. Which song is it from?
