I can relate to the barber thing though. I wore very long hair for years but I hated it. Going to the barber wasn't an option for me since I suffer from bad anxiety issues when it comes to meeting people in a face-to-face situation and I hadn't been brave enough to cut my hair myself.
Last New Year's Eve I decided to do it! I was literally shaking and panicking when I stood in front of my mirror and took the scissors – but it went just fine. 😄🎉
