Great video, have been waiting for this topic as I love urea! In my opinion some of the best Urea products are Eucerin, who combine urea with caprylic triglyceride and oat extract for amazing face and body products! Can you do a video sometime about the topic: running out of skin cells, rapidly produced cells have less adhesion and depletion of healthy cell divisions when using retinoids? These questions seems to be popping up more and more and its good to explain why this is unlikely of concern.
Would also be interesting to talk more in depth about collagenase and telomere erosion in the epidermis, and whether topicals influence this. Research says telomere erosion is influenced by skin proliferation and dna damaging agents, so could topicals decrease these dna damaging pathways. There is quite some research in telomere shortening in the epidermis in relation to skin aging. It is at least much more complicated than the blog article that the Beautybrains has made. So maybe you can do an elaborate explanation.

Hi.. May I know if urea is considered as steroid too? I have eczema.. While people said don't use steroid coz its not good n will cause more damage (steroid withdrawal etc) .. How about urea? Thx..
I'm using urea foot cream on my dry KP skin on my lower legs and it helps shedding the dead skin. However, it's only 10-25% so I want to get a higher percentage so it can get rid of the dead skin quicker then I intend to maintain it with 10% urea. I use sebamed 5% urea cream on my face during the day time. I hope it will help repair my skin barrier. I have very dry problematic skin on my face and lower legs (KP). Hopefully, urea can solve my problems soon!!
I use Eucerin products which have 10% and some for the body have 20% Urea. They have helped my dry body skin very much. the 20% is for my lower legs and feet and again, it's been very good. It's available at most drug stores & on Amazon too.
Wonderful explanation of urea and review of products. I've tried HL gel and lotion, loved them both. What are your thoughts on urea toner? I'm hearing that *urea toner* is all the RAGE but some outcry that it is NOT for sensitive skin. Adjusting for other ingredients which may be causing the sensitivity, is urea an irritant? Thanks so much if you have a chance to get to this. (The one that keeps coming up is Sukoyaka).
If Urea can work as an exfoliant, can you use a 5% urea cream while on tretinoin or would that be too much exfoliation? I know 10% is where it is usually used to exfoliate, but could 5% be too much for the face if it's combined with a retinoid? Also, thank you for making this video.
