  1. Got a good deal on an antique bottle once. It's lovely. But, prefer Tuvache, Jungle Gardenia or Jean Desprez BaV. Mmmmm. The collectors batch was sambac, divine, I gander. Love it.. 🤯🌝🎉 the soft eye lewk is also lovely. A time of sway, these types of classic, scents. Ty xo

  2. Interesting, I love EnJoy and still have a bottle though it’s discontinued now, but just can’t stand Joy- it is too vintage for me…. X

  3. Beautiful.. was my mothers favourite for many years. She Chanel No 5 in the day and Joy when she went out dine and dancing every Saturday night. She also used Original Christian Dior. That’s the only three she used..❤🙏🥰

  4. I have the same bottle design, only smaller (7.5 ml parfum) and a cerified vintage.. Mine is probably 1980s. Definitely blended well, as it stood the test of time. The jasmine is as crisp as ever! The indolic aspect is tame but the civet is there!!! I can say, a fitting to be something that used to follow N5.

  5. I have the vintage rectangular bottle of joy 30 ml. And the rose is amazing. It may get a bit rosy soury… depending on the day…but when I first opened it a fresh dewy rose came to my nose and my mind and it became darker ..as if this garden of beautiful fresh home garden roses locked in that bottle for maybe 40 years wanted to see the light the sun and feel the human touch…the skin of someone who would love and appreciate it… to me it tastes like wine,a good wine with rosy details maturing in old cellars for 40 years .. my joy bottle pure parfum was from late 70s…

  6. Smelled this (vintage version same bottle). It has a very musky base. It’s raw, loud, almost carnal. Still love N5 to this but this is a masterpiece! 🏆

  7. I have five difren bottles of Joy and I really like this one, for some reason my nose only smells rose in all of them never jasmine, I love yo star my day with a beautiful rose probable 300 days of the year is goin to be something with rose and more than 200 days is Joy it really puts me in a come and joy mood 💓

  8. I've got the extrait black bottle and just lucked out on an affordable 15ml extrait from 1962 that's STILL WRAPPED IN CELLOPHANE..! I don't have it in hand yet but I'll get it in July… Can't wait to get my nose on it..! GREAT VIDEO– I just put some on to go to bed ❤

  9. I have a bottle of Joy in the original bottle and a sample from a decanter co. It is made by Dior and it smells a lot better than the other. The original was disappointing it didn't smell like flowers but I don't know what it smells like. It just stinks. The first time I smelled it, a few years ago I thought it smelled so good.

  10. Joy is mentioned in The Secret of Chanel No.5 which I am reading on vacation in the mountains of Colorado with snow all around. I looked it up to read more about it and found this lovely video. Indolic scares me to death though. Yet, I am intrigued by your review. I trust your nose very much because your likes and dislikes seem so very much in line with my own experiences. I think your skin and mine and the way we tend to run a little bit hot makes the scents play similarly for us. The only difference is that I like Gabrielle Essence maybe a bit better than you do. It was such a surprise but that one makes me feel excitement and Joy. I will someday buy the extrait and know I will adore her. You are my favorite You Tube reviewer by far! Thank you Dacob.

  11. I own it, and I’m afraid to open it.
    I wore Joy years ago…
    Omg!

I was not ready for Joy. but I knew enough to know it was mystical.
I’m thrilled to have another bottle of it!

    Prefer Paloma Picasso,Estee Lauder etc.
Mi ar face placere sa aflu care e părerea ta legata de Paloma Picasso edp,Youth Dew ec

  13. The best review I have ever watched! You made me cry, it was the only gift I saw when my father came from his trip from Paris in the 80s! My mother just used it on special occasions! Thank you!

  14. I’m currently going through a professionally demanding and emotionally heavy time. Last night, I lit some jasmine incense I purchase in India and applied a few drops of JOY extrait followed by the Eau de Parfum, the last formulation made in France. The result was stunning. Surprisingly, it didn’t feel heavy at all. Sometimes, when you’re in the right mood, these perfumes don’t overwhelm, they carry you.

The atmosphere felt like wilted flowers resting on tarnished silver: opulence fading into something even more beautiful. There’s something deeply carnal about JOY, especially in the older versions. I have another extrait back home in Spain, from the 1950s, that is absolutely feral rich, animalic, almost sweaty. Even the 1990-80s EDT still clings to that jasmine in heat character.

I reach for perfumes like this the way some people reach for armor.

    Beautiful reviews Dacob.
