I'm with you Dave. I use all three after every shave. Works great for me.
If you're using aftershave, I recommend using some kind of moisturizer after since the alcohol in the after-shave can dry your skin out.

A long time ago, I bought a styptic pencil for bleeding. I used it, and I couldn't believe how painful it was! Looking back, I don't think I wet it, I'm not sure if that would have made a difference. Would an alum block be as painful?
I use that Nivea aftershave. My wife loves the smell of my sandalwood Taylor of Old Bond Street shaving cream, and the Nivea aftershave doesn't mask the sandalwood scent. I also like that it doesn't have alcohol.
I need to try the alum block, though.
Do you use the thayers first then aftershave, or does thayers replace your aftershave splash?

After shaving my head, I stand under the coldest water possible for a minute or two, dry off and then put on a small amount of Cetaphil cream. If you have sensitive skin this works wonders.
I am curious. A what its the best to use a facial toner. I have never used one but want to try it out for myself. DoI use it right after my shave before I apply my aftershave or do I use it afterwards, after everything is done and some aftershave is applied?
i don’t mean to be that guy, but pores don’t open or close. that’s a myth. i’ve shaved for years and never used an alum block, witch hazel, or other types of astringent aftershaves. only aloe and i’ve never had issues.
I'm going to get the Which Hazel, and the alum block. I've heard alllllllll shorts of stuff about the Thayer's even from channels which don't specialize in shaving.
I use alcohol free unscented Thayer's witch hazel. Stuff is absolutely incredible.

Funny is, the alum block makes my skin red and worse than without using it. Is there a particular reason for it?
