  1. Yassssssssss 🥰😍🥰 I’m wondering i can buy a Vintage Chanel blue silk “evening bag”? With gold hardware is it worth it?? For €1100 what du ya’ll think ☺️

  2. Dacob you are just fab, I love watching you! May I know where you're from/what background?

  3. Yeah! The horse handler was a girl, but since the bride needed help getting off the horse, the girl was switched for a guy! 😒

  4. Amazing review! Dacob, (as you already know yourself) you radiate amazing energy and knowledge of Chanel. This, along with your desire for the brand to push itself at its best, and not turning a blind eye to its needed areas of improvement, offers such a unique and needed perspective in the “world” of fashion lovers 😄

  5. They say the collection and Virginie are amazing because they were paid to say it.

  6. The lady who was reading the book is the grandchild of princess Grace Kelly, she did live in a bubble kind of hehe

  7. So nice to rewatch this review. Coz I was actually so busy roasting the corny/ phony round-table with the other members during the live review that I wasn't 100% focused on your commentaries. It was indeed a huge communication faux pas, the epitome of what we call in French "entre soi", which has a sort of high privileged social grouping meaning. From your "foreigner's" point of view, do you think this kind of snobby attitude is a good publicity for our Parisian culture? And seriously, what's with the macarons on the table? Those women obviously don't eat for God's sake!!!!
Caroline de Maigret is the woman who was conducting this ill-conceived interview. She is not Dutch but a pure Parisian who also happens to live in my neighborhood. She is married to a funk music musician who has always been one of my neighborhood's main figure. She looks privileged and sometimes awfully self-conceited/ irritating in her public persona, but in real life, she is very low-key and humble. I used to sometimes meet her at the bakery or at the café on sunday morning.
OMG, there is always a raw sincerity/ spontaneity with naturally well-chosen words and without the slightest hint of nastiness or bitterness, in your analysis that is so refreshing to watch and hilarious at the same time. There were some moments when I just couldn't stop laughing!
I think the show wanted to tell us nothing special but just tried in those dark and heavy times , to depict a light summery feminine "moment of grace" in Southern France's Camargue. Viard's outfits during the greetings at the end was typically "Arlésienne" cowgirl style! The setting really reminded me of my friend's house in the south of France with all the lightings. The only missing details were the sun, the cicada bugs singing noise, the plane trees and the fig trees. Well, that's my interpretation and that's the only thing I have managed to read between the show's lines!
I did love all the vests during the show, and I do love wearing those without anything under it. Yes, their middle-aged clients won't obviously wear them topless under it. But during the "essayages", Chanel usually adds some see-through matching organza sleeves in order to conceit flubby arms. Some of your viewers were complaining about the designs being too bland and simple. But I do think Viard's couture style is all about hidden details, what we call in French "détails égoïstes". For sure, there will be some upcoming videos about this show. I can't wait to see the modelists and seamstresses explaining their works!
Yes, I agree the simplicity of some designs were reminiscent of Gabrielle Chanel's and certain details were of Karl Lagerfeld's as well (I immediately thought about the Cuba Collection right after watching certain garnements). Well, Virginie Viard has always claimed to be their spiritual daughter and rightfully so, at least stylistically!
It is such a coincidence that some of your members were thinking of Alexander Mc Queen directing Chanel . I know for a fact that 2 of their 4 current main "premières d'atelier" had been wooed by Chanel from…….. Givenchy in the early 2000s where they used to work under the tutelage of SIr Mc Queen. My friend whose atelier did conceive the giant flowers you like was also part of their team at the time. And there is still and will always be a huge mutual bond and respect among the 3 of them. Fashion is indeed a tiny world!

  8. My Mother used to say: 'The navel has one purpose only after birth. That purpose is to be kept clean.' Exposed navels when people are wearing bathing suits are fine. I don't really enjoy seeing them exposed for the purpose of drawing attention to them.
Working class women, often the poorest, go without in order to buy a wedding dress. I think a lot of that is because it is one of the rare opportunities a working class woman has to wear a ball gown.
I wish the fashion houses would engage models who had more physical heft to them. I don't like this overly thin look. I mean aesthetically, quite apart from the health issues. I liked the wedding dress itself, less so the veil's headdress.
The horse trainer may have been a practical necessity, but if it is an all-women's show, could they not have found a female horse trainer?
Thank you for the video! Sorry I missed the live stream, though the re-run has its own charms! I can stop the video when I need to!

  9. I agree with you 100%!! I am a fashion teacher and I teach my students to tell you a story and a collection has to be cohesive not confusing- this haute couture was so confusing! It didn't unify a story but left me questioning wtf!! Yes, the fit was shocking especially because it's haute couture. Some pieces were just meh…I got more excited to see a curvaceous model to identify with. Not impressed.

  10. They created this collection by working from home and the fit was supervised over the camera due the corona restrictions so maybe this was the real issue, they also want to implement a more intellectual approach to the brand but anyway you can't to this by speaking about books and titles ..lol I am still waiting for a "Virginie" vision of the brand, not the past but the present

  11. Film by Anton Corbijn. I know him as Art Director for Depeche Mode. The black/white intro is very his style.

  12. I don't get the one size (0) fits all model…the demographic of the women buying these clothes are not early twenties in general as if women of different ages and sizes cannot see themselves in the outfit (the cut out sleeve is a case in point) it is pointless, unrelatable and unwearable. I didn't think it looked good even on a size 0! All fashion houses need to represent ALL women, like Galtier, young old and different body shapes and sizes I don't understand the world is making great steps in inclusivity yet the fashion houses remain stuck in a time warp.

  13. Hahaha, yesss, your commentary is gold.. love to see your 'show' ,better than tv, I never watch it,but YOU..YES 😻😘🥰

  14. It’s imperative that you watch Dacob’s review on every Chanel fashion show. 🏆✨

  15. I never looked at it that way with procreating! The government really wants us to be structured to milk us more through taxes.

  16. The song used was actually a 1963 song originally from The Ronettes produced by Phil Spector. I agree they could’ve used a better song. Ironic when they were pushing the facets of female empowerment.
