This is the incredible true story of the Germ and Soap Company that teamed up to fight drug charges. David Bronner President of Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps shows how natural soaps test positive for the date rape drug GHB using police field kits while detergent based fake soaps always test negative. You got to watch it to believe it.

  1. what a joke….

but this is great advertising for dr. bronners…you can't buy this kind of publicity…I love the soap…maybe now it will be easier to get…

  2. Wowie! Zowie! Surreal but disturbing. We are living in a police state if an innocent person is arrested for possession of soap. Glad to know Toms of Maine is total crap owned by Colgate-Palmolive. I love Dr. Bronners and used it since 1967 and I have no wrinkles although I am 53!

    love, peace and axel grease

  3. dr. bronners is the best soap in the world! I carry a little bottle with me wherever I go. I'm so glad to see this video. people have to wake up and read the ingredient labels!

  4. Dr. Bronner's is the best. I live in Germany and can't get any over here. It makes absolute sense that some of these even so-called natural and organic soaps are not really what they say they are. Visit the Environmental Working Group's new Skin Deep product safety database, which provides safety ratings for nearly 25,000 personal care products – almost a quarter of all products on the market – and the 7,000 ingredients they contain. ewg. org

  5. Right on! Thank you, thank you. Here's an example of someone serving their own corporate interests who at the same time is serving the public interest. Very cool.

  6. No Colleen, Toms of Maine, despite having been bought up by Colgate Palmolive, is one of the actual soap products, not one of the petroleum detergents. Watch the video again. The jury is still out on whether the big corporation will keep the purity of the products made by the little guys who gained such a fine reputation for their products.

  7. anyone know the name of the girl who was playing guitar at the press conference??

  8. Oh Dr. Bronner's! You do it all for me! Soap, shampoo, dish soap, shave oil and now comedy! Amazing. I love you.

  9. Yay for Dr. Bronner's, Pangea and (for now) Tom's! I'm going to post this video to our site, iamelephant dot com–let's get this video going viral, get out the word! One thing not mentioned–the fake soaps are not only bad for us, they're horrible for the environement, and our water supply . – Waylon

  10. I have used Dr Bronner's soap for a long time and will continue to do so. This is great!

  11. Phew. For a second there I was all set to be angry that I'd been washing with this stuff when I could have been drinking it.

  12. SOOOOOO GLAD the charges against Don were dropped! Wish we could sue LAPD or OCPD for wrongful arrest.

Video is intriguing, wish he'd test stuff from LUSH, that is reeeeally good soap, but Michael Bronner's chemistry knowledge is formidable, and can decipher those labels!

  13. for the funniest sh!t you have ever seen type in "Surfing On Drugs"… its hosted by robotpeople..

    watch it and laugh!

  14. As soon as Media Blitz kicked in, I knew I was in luuuuurve. I gotta get me some o' that. Soap…not ghb…

  15. "Hi officer, before you arrest me for carrying what appears to be GHB, would you mind sitting down and watching this documentary that will explain things? Officer, why are you beating me senseless?"

  16. I just saw the documentary on Sundance re: Dr Bronner's soap. We used to have gallons of it at the commune I lived on…has everyone seen the doc? I just happened to be watching t.v. early that morning when Don Bolles' segment on–not usually watching that early Sun morn.

  17. I love Dr. Bronner's soap. My friend David introduced me to it. The label alone is worth the price of purchase.

  18. I have been using this stuff for years…only because it smelled good, cleared my sinuses, and made me relax. And best of all….no one can even come close to guessing my age!!! I'm a fan, even if it does turn green with the drug test 🙂

  19. I guess the cops will have to go back to planting drugs and evidence on victims now, also never in CA. history has a cop been convicted of perjury, I guess they must all tell the truth. HAHAHA

  20. I absolutely love this soap and have been showering with it for years. I love the peppermint tingle. Great for shaving as well.

  21. I only used Dr. Bonners soap and African Black soap imported from Africa to clean my skin. These soaps are just Superior.

My goodness this is just brilliant.

  22. This guy really knows his shit about chemistry….and he used it wisely. Nothing can compare to REAL soap.

  23. I find that castor oil is a good facial moisturizer. It's not completely water soluable, but you can mix a small amount of it with water in your hands before applying to your face, and it's really hydrating. I have combination skin, and no break-outs with castor oil.

  24. Wow. That was kinda amazing to watch. The part where he tested the fake brands which clamins to be natural or organic. I mean, he gave names! Wouldn't he get into trouble because of that? :/

  25. @gadgetnoob Can't get in trouble for the truth. Defamation/slander/libel only apply to false statements. He did the chemical tests as proof on camera and told us the chemical reasons why it happens. 😉

  26. @gadgetnoob Maybe they're the ones who'll get into trouble for fraud or false advertising? At least he provided some great information!

  27. Wow. Cool of Dr. Bronners' to pay for the Germs defense. What a mess. Good to know about the real soaps though since I am allergic to the other stuff, and at 50 have a hard time reading labels. Maybe Narcotest will send me their failed product so I can use it to test my soaps?
