Panasonic Foil Shaver vs Norelco Rotary Razor. Comparing and contrasting the difference between the two technologies. I also must note that my skin is extremely sensitive.

Thanks for watching my first Video. 🙂

Razors mentioned:
Panasonic ES8103S https://amzn.to/3nNVp6C
Norelco (similar to my model with adjustable sensitivity adjustment)
SP9820/87 https://amzn.to/3nIhhQR
Norelco (alternate) S5588/81 https://amzn.to/3zlf4Nu

I get commissions for purchases made through links in this post.
(both these Norelco models are able to be disassembled and cleaned)

Key Takeaways from video:
Don’t waste your money on self cleaning shavers.
Braun shavers are very hard to manually clean and should be avoided along with certain Norelco models.
The choice between Foil and Rotary is what you want from your shave. Rotary IMO is going to be a closer shave, but might cause more irritation. Whereas foil might not be quite as close, but will provide a lot less irritation. Both work good and are wonderful options if you have sensitive skin, skin that is prone to ingrown hairs, or just want to save from having to constantly purchase a new blade.

  1. i tried phillips rotary with 2 heads and 3 heads and they both sucked a lot. i also tried remington rotary and idk which one was the foil…. they were all hell for my skin. i had my skin burning all day and my face was red all the time. not to mention that in the morning it was quite ok but later my beard popped out so i was never really clean shaven. after many 100s of € spent for this shit i bought DE razor, a brush, shaving cream and a pack of blades. most cheap and skin friendly shaving ever. will not go back to electric shaving ever again

  2. Another bonus is that the Foil razor can shave your ass crack much much easier. (Buy a separate razor guys. You don't want pink eye. lol) Or you could just buy Nad's like I do, and well you know.

  3. Thanks for the info brother. My best friend growing up swore by the rotary over my 3 blade razor. I tried it twice, and it pulled so hard on my hairs that I wanted nothing to do with it. I didn't know a Foil razor could solve the problem. I'll consider going this route.

  4. You look great by the way …. But I’m glad I watched you I’m on my way RIGHT NOW to Target to buy electric ⚡️ razor 🪒 but I’m a woman & I’m tired of getting cut so I hope I find a e-razor like you have – was wanting a rotary I’m so GLAD I WATCHED YOU FIRST THAT IS COSTLY to replace that rotary part as you mentioned .. Thanks so much !!!

  5. that cool alien looking Braun razor turned out to be poorly designed. This is the reason I have developed a love for ugly Japanese made products…they just worked well but rarely looked good, except for a few rare gems.

  6. The Braun one does detach the same exact way, I have one lol

  7. Have you ever considered taking off that head on the rotary shaver and rinsing it under the faucet with hot water? Thats how I clean mine and it works like a champ. You can also use canned air.

  8. Shaving for 22 years, wait wah, you start shaving at what 8? 10? You barely look older than 30 lol

  9. Interesting opinion about shaving before washing your face not after, but I always figured best not to rub the germs and micro dirt into your pores while shaving. But maybe a compromise between what you said and what i usually practice, would be wash your face, and apply a lil drop of beard oil round your beard zone, ima try this next time. Although I might forget coz I'm growing my beard currently lol

  10. I've had great success with foil and nothing but problems with rotary.

  11. The Kemei foil shaver leaves some hairs unshaved and doesn't shave the ''neck'' hair!! naa I'll return the get the rotate Philips and pay more better.

  12. Rotary shavers will last much longer as than a foil shaver as the foil will last at most 18 months and end up with a hole int he foil due to foil metal fatigue. However, foil shavers do give a overall closer and better shave that a rotary shaver due to the foils overall thinness. Depends on what a person considers more important > shaver longevity or close shave…. Most electric razors end up with weak or dead batteries as well which means that the motor won't cut the hair as effectively over time unless the battery is replaced.

  13. That makes sense. Rotary shaver is very painful to use to the point that i'd rather use a 4 blade manual razor. Edit: I have a norelco S5210 (Shaver 5100) and I exclusively have been using the precision trimmer to shave my face for 6 years. The rotary attachment is lightly used, but it feels as if it is trying to rip all the hairs out of the root.

  14. Any recommendations for older model (cheaper) foil style razors? Bonus if replacement blades are inexpensive as well. I shave my face and head.

  15. Good review ! but in my experience as a decades long user of Braun I can say that they are rock solid ,
and keep on ticking even after decade or longer of use. What basically is sustainable and they really are not hard
to clean at all and replacement parts are available for a long long time this said it was very informative and well made!

  16. Good tip, I had never thought about the face's natural oil being helpful.

  17. I have course hair and rotaries don't cut my hair worth shit. I'm astounded how bad they shave. Good foil shavers are hugely, vastly superior on my type of hair.

  18. 3:25 Wrong. I've had the Braun Series 7, that I purchased in 2005 & the foil & cutter was separate. That shaver was so comfortable & my brother was so impressed, he said he was going to get one. The only thing I didn't like with this model, was to get a really smooth face, you would have to keep going over it which left my skin sore the, same with a series 9 that I purchased a few years ago & the foil & cutter was separate on that one to.

  19. I'm thinking about buying the new braun 9 Series Pro today as they say it supposed to be their most comfortable list shaver ever with no irritation dose anyone else have on?

  20. Have tried several times to use an electric razor and tear up my face…. will try your suggestion on shaving with a dirty face…..I usually washed it before I shaved……maybe that will work for me… .

  21. The Braun i have is like the Philips you have easy to clean …also have rotary mine are Remington or Philips i´ve never seen an electric razor in Denmark where you can adjust for sensitive skin?!?!?! did you try Philips Norelco one blade?
