Hi! I started doing the curly girl method 4 months ago. I was really enjoying the Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Restorative Conditioner. In the last month my hair has started getting really knotted when I apply it in the shower. So much so that I have stopped using it. Any idea on what that would be? Is that common for too much moisture or protein?
Also I enjoy your videos!! 🙂
What do you use to swish to condish? Do you rinse out with one then swish to con dish with another? I also have the shea moisture smoothie, do you use that as a leave in or a cream?
Interesting, I have dyed my hair a lot and I have low porosity hair. I wonder how it's low porosity then… odd!
super helpful
Blow fried lol I love it.
What an awesome video! Do you still make your own concoction for the rinse out?
Blow fried😂😂
I love it
I've tried many of the VO5 and Suave on my high porosity color-treated/bleached hair and I can tell you that they're not all the same.
For me, the most moisturizing of the 7 or 8 VO5 types I've tried, is surprisingly enough, the Kiwi Lime Squeeze which for years I only used as a co-wash but began using 3 1/2 years ago as a LI on and off, sometimes mixed with a few drops of coconut or castor oil or all by itself.
Of the Suave, the best detangling and moisturizing for me was the Lavender and Lily, especially if mixed with a few drops of castor oil; it's what I've usually used right after doing my color retouch. I kept buying it even though I'm not crazy about the scent, same with the Waterfall Mist, the others don't detangle and moisturize my fine hair quite as well as those 2. I just went to the Suave website and noticed that they don't call that line "Naturals" anymore but "Essentials", more fitting really as they were not quite "natural" at all. Also, the L&L is no longer featured, small wonder it had become harder and harder to find, haven't seen it anywhere lately, bummer!
Another one nixed a good while ago was the VO5 Shea Cashmere which I liked even better than the KLS as a LI, but since I had SO many different COs I didn't really find out it had been discontinued until last summer when I went looking for a replacement bottle. I hopped from store to store all over town with no luck, it was too late. Perhaps my clue should've been that the last bottle I bought was from Big Lots, but on the other hand, they have plenty of products that have not been discontinued as well. The VO5 Island Coconut comes pretty close so I'll probably be using it more often this winter.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! This video is so incredibly helpful! I’m finding out that I have a very similar hair texture to yours and I’m using pumps and pumps of the raw SM conditioner in the shower and I’m wanting to figure out a way to not go through it so quickly. I’m also very interested in learning about protein too so I’ll be doing some more research there too! Thanks again for such a great video!!
My hair stays really dry and frizzy on the crown. Mainly the areas I got highlighted. I have fairly fine hair so a lot of stuff weighs my hair down!! What do you think I should use? I brought deva curl arc angel gel and it wasnt enough for me. I have tried several gels and after I scrunch out the cast I have a dry mess!!!
This is by far the best video On rinse out conditioners!!! Ty!
What is the name of the gallon conditioner? How much does it cost? Thanks for sharing 💜 great video
Thankyou for your insight #crazedwithcurlyhair 😉Sincerely, Lisa
I am post-menopausal. And, I have "baby-fine" hair that I darken to rid the white hair that is grouped above each ear. I have a GREAT difficulty finding a product to use…🤔 So appreciate suggestions
Very interesting video
Wow, that was very informative. Just wondering how you add the gelatin, in powder form or dissolved in water
SPEAK UP PLEASE
Thanks
PLEASE do an updated version
Adding stuff to your conditioner WILL break the emulsification and making it watery and then breaking down all the bennifits. Not to mention the worst thing that can happen which is breaking the preservative. Chemicals don't mix with other chemicals ( every thing is a chemical ) properly when formulas arnt IDENTICAL. your playing a very dangerous health issue game. It's fine if you mix them in your hand and use them right away. Just trying to help. My channel is all about beauty formulations ( ok, not all I dab into a lot of other creative things, beauty and art ). Same thing right lol?
This is the most helpful and informative video I have come across. Thank you so much!
