I have been blessed with a hair texture that tends to get frizzy. I have learned how to take care of it after a lifetime, and in this video I share the products I like to use to get some kind of control over my frizzy gray/silver hair. But before we get there, I wanted to share some inspiration for beautiful, frizz-prone hair.

I’m accepting my hair more now when it’s frizzy. It’s a losing or hard battle in the summer. It gets so frizzy that I lose most definition. It in my mind looks unkempt. If I clip the sides back it looks nicer and more intentional. Thank you.
even with the frizz, it's stunningly gorgeous!
Your “frizzy” hair is beautiful, it’s a shame you had to endure the insults. People can be so cruel.
I loved the pictures of beautiful women through the ages with very curly (frizzy) hair. It helps those of us who have suffered the stigma of curly hair.
This video almost brought tears to my eyes. It’s all about self acceptance and I need to work on that. I need to learn to love my frizz. Because I have been going naturally silver my hair is becoming more and more wild and I live in Florida. Completely smooth hair is unattainable for me so I need to learn to love what I have! Thank you, beautiful!
Frizzy hair or not you look absolutely gorgeous 👩🏻🦳🌸 since I started the wavy/curly hair method I find my hair is less frizzy by using different products but if i straighten it, i have lots of frizz but I’ve had that all my life. Yesterday we had a celebration of life event for my husband’s father who passed away 3 years ago, it was very humid out so I made one braid on each side (Viking style lol) it helped a lot and I did not worry about my frizz ☺️ and had lots of compliments 😍have a great week 🥰🤗
Oh, Beth, if you think your hair is frizzy I’m afraid of what you’d think of mine!!!🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️. (So sorry you had to deal with mean girls in high school!!!😢❤). I would love it if you continued to discuss this topic. I have NOT made peace with my curly, frizzy hair?🤦♀️
Thts not frizzy! Evn if it ws its beautiful.I always embraced my frizz then I went grey & it webt almost straught No frizz. I.miss my frizz. As for tjose mean girls if they saw u now they wld be green w envy Ur so pretty
This was a very helpful video! I love the curliness of my hair, but now that I had all the dyed hair cut off and the silver is about 2.5 inches long, the hair over my ears is very hard to control. It wants to stick out sideways for the Albert Einstein effect, so I've resorted to clips, bobby pins, scarves, etc. I'll be glad when it's longer – I, too, feel more "like myself" with long hair and am strategizing to make the next couple of years easier.
You have such beautiful curls!!! I can't believe how rude teens can be. I wonder if my kids are such a-holes at school. I sure hope not. On a sweeter note: I want roses and flower crowns to come back in style. LOL
This was interesting. I have razor straight hair and I rarely thought about my hair when I was growing up except to sometimes wish it was a different color – anything but the boring brown I had – but I did notice that my curly-haired friends used to think and talk about their curls/frizz a lot…I never understood why they thought about it so much. To me, it was all just hair. I'm sorry you experienced such nastiness from the mean girls but I gotta say that you definitely got the last laugh…your hair is absolutely stunning and the curls give it that much more fullness which matters even more as hair thins naturally as we age…trust me, all of us with fine, straight hair are completely jealous now!
The product that has worked best for me for over 20 years is Ouidad Climate Control gel – both the original and extra hold formulas. I always come back to it. In fact, I buy it in the largest bottle available on their website and it lasts a year.I lived in the DC area for over 30 years with constant humidity in the Spring and Summer.
Frizzy hair can be beautiful if handled properly. Yours is superb❤
You are so right about how people respond to the simple fact of having hair on our head. My hair transitioned to it's natural grey over the pandemic, and this was not well-received when I came back on campus as a school leader. The comments – mostly from women! I'm never going back to coloring, and I am embracing my natural waviness most days. Interesting days!
When I fuss over it I always say this quote: “Embrace the glorious mess that you are.” I don’t mind being messy…especially if it is a glorious mess.
I appreciate the subject you touched on here about being judged for the texture of your hair, those mean comments can be horrible seeds that live on forever in the back of your mind. I have them too. It’s a really terrible side of the trickle down effects of racism.
I would embrace a "little" frizz. Your hair color and curls are just some of the best I have ever seen.😊 Roundfile the emotional baggage and just rock on.❤
Your guidance with my hair growing experiences, just awesome ❤
So crazy what they said about you! I don’t get it! I love wavy frizzy hair! Makes me sad little you heard that. Anyway, I love your hair! By the way you looked so pretty back then but the silver hair really makes you striking!
Hi From Australia, love the chanel new subscriber here, you have inspired me to embrace my silver hair 4 weeks in and im liking the silver im blonde and my hairdresser is glossing and toning the rest….and im using the oils &serums that your recomending keep vlogging.❤
Hi Beth, great video, hair is beautiful!
I think your natural hair is gorgeous
Your natural hair texture is stunning, to me it looks beautiful, healthy and shiny, i would love that hair, lol i put mine in loose braids after washing it to try and achieve that look !! 😅
I love grey hair I am jealous of people who have uniform gray hair and a youthful face. It looks amazing.
As a fellow frizzy-haired girl, I love love love your message, make peace with it and tune out the haters 🥰 you and your hair are absolutely gorgeous!
Oh my goodness I feel like crying. All those years when even my mother saying I had “nappy” hair. How they pained my soul.
When I was five years old, my babysitter’s son poured sand on top of my head. I ran into the house where my babysitter scooped me up into her lap and comforted me. Then she scolded her son, washed my hair and kept complimenting my curls. It was sooooo soothing. After she gently washed and detangled my hair, she gave me two braids and then styled it with two Princess Leia buns.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I have embraced my hair ever since, curls and now the grays.
Beth, Hope the summer continues to treat you well. Today is my spa day to get a pedicure. I can't reach my toes any more so I have AMANDA cut my nails and scrub my feet. Its an awesome place where men can go to keep their feet clean, talk and drink beer or wine. Plus AMANDA is a hair stylist and checks out my hair. She is impressed and supportive as my grey hair continues to grow. After I get home, I'm just on a mental high. AMANDA and you have a lot in common…so helpful and encouraging. You are a blessing Beth. Just love seeing your new videos when they post❤😊
I LOVE your hair!! I’m new and came over with a link from patty Alonza your Pat McGrath video. The whole time I was watching the video I was mesmerized by your gorgious hair! My hair is silver too and no longer color it. Only mine is super straight and I just love love voluminous hair. I’m 59 and most of my younger teen years your hair type was what everyone wanted!! I used to perm my hair so much to get the body that you have.
I have curly hair and got it from my mum. She’s 53 and I guess actually went to uni during the 80’s. She has a lot of dark curls that can sometimes be frizzy. She’s happy that the ‘80’s are back’ in terms of hair acceptance. Her sister fully chemically straightened her hair that was even curlier. I like that my mum never changed her hair. It’s different these days I get complimented all the time. (Only time I ever felt bad about my hair texture was when my hair was changing in puberty and I didn’t know how to look after it) found your channel from your pat video. Love it!
Hey Beth. I have thick long fine curly hair.
No matter what I do, I have flat head. Even volume mousse.
Today I dipped a wide plastic pick comb in a small bit of pomade, and slightly back combed around my crown.
Viola! And it stayed! Woohoo.
PS, I used the Oribe Silverati pomade.
We have such similar hair! Mine is not as gray…more salt and pepper. I wish it turned more. I just turned 60.
I do struggle with frizzy hair especially when super humid. I moved from Florida to No California and although less humid, it is still humid. I like to wear my hair straight for work, although in wear it curly if not going to the office. My challenge is that my hair styled curly does not look good the next day. And straight looks better the second day (unless done at the salon).
I appreciate this conversation. They key is to appreciate what we have
Please put links to products mentioned so they are easier to find. Thanks.
I'm glad I found your hair videos as my hair is wavier as I age and graying like yours, plus has always been frizzy and resists control. I learned years ago to let it dry naturally, but it helps to know how to deal with those 'Alfalfa' hairs 😂
Hats off to those of us with the frizziest! This is good information.❤
I love the pictures of younger you. So cute!
Thank you…wild, frizzy hair is sexy ..people are afraid of sexy!
I enjoyed this video. Lately I don’t want to fight my frizz so much. A little frizz is perfectly fine
Just found your channel and my hair is identical to yours but not as long. I’m always fighting the frizz and looking for new products but have yet to find something that eliminates it. I’m glad I’m not the only one. Thanks for saying that it’s ok!
I can relate to this video so much!! ❤ I’m enjoying your videos.
Those mean girls were jealous of your curls because they will never have curls; but if we really really want it, we can get our hair straight …(for about 10 minutes..)
Your hair is gorgeous! I so much prefer frizz over the wet gel look. Great video thanks 😊
Oh yes….. the ugly comments. I had a teacher call me out, in seventh grade, telling me to go brush my hair! It was a “distraction and looked HORRIBLE!” Awe memories of my, ultra religious school days. Years of blowing my hair straight. I am 61 now and am embracing my curls. My hair is just like my beloved granny and thank goodness for great curl videos, like this and wonderful products. Thank you, Beth. ❤️
