This week’s video is simple — just me, in the shower room, chatting about a cupboard that brings me more joy than it probably should.
It’s an old shop display unit I found at auction — tall, theatrical, and once featured in The Colour Room, a film about Clarice Cliff. These days, it’s my beauty cupboard: filled with vintage bathroom storage pieces, soaps from my travels, and the little objects that shape how I start the day.
Some pieces have stories. Others just make sense.
Antique photography trays now hold lotions. Vintage sweet jars have become memory jars — packed with scent, texture, and time.
This isn’t a haul or a routine. Just a quiet chat — a beauty cupboard tour with bits about why I keep what I keep, …the joy of choosing each morning — which perfume, which soap, which ritual — and how it all shapes the rhythm of my day.

Since this is about beauty let me comment on your hair. After you started wearing it up and off your face you look so youthful! Your skin is luminous and beautiful and it really shows off your lovely eyes. It really shows how well you treat yourself and that's something we all should be doing. I'm about to turn 73 and taking care of my skin is a priority. If you look your best you will feel your best! Keep it up Louisa❤❤!

Gorgeous cabinet and collection. I have something similar with lovely old bottles from France. A few sprigs of lavender in tiny vases add to the glass look. I had to laugh when you pointed us the the corner with Mark’s few bottles! That is exactly like mine..! It’s a beautiful wonder display. I relate! X
Exquisite cabinet Louisa full of beautiful things. I too like to make the most of each day by using perfume, shower gels, body oil etc As for bars of soaps 🧼 I adore them. Fragrance evokes so many memories. I recall that when my lovely Tony was alive the highlight of my day was when he kissed me goodbye before going to work. The waft of his aftershave really made my day. I wear my perfumes every day, not quite dressed without them.Jill

Penhaligon's my absolute favourite scent co., sadly hard to find in Canada these days since my "go to" shop closed. Thanks too for the WOMBLES mention! I absolutely love this idea and a forgoes piece of furniture . Need a large bathroom to create this beautiful idea . I have one in my ensuite but a sliver touch small one . Maybe I can send you a snap shot !! Try to work out how to do so this .. 💗
