  1. Can you do a long-term review let's say you've been using it for a month or more and give us a review of how it is after that period of time

  2. 1.5 teaspoon of dr bronners to 4 oz distilled water do acv/ distilled water rinse before and and after wash and rinse with 2.5 gallons of distilled water and rinse some more in the shower just to be sure that’s the best way to use Dr bronners for dreads or locs

  3. That’s was way too much soap and get hair thoroughly wet before using this soap

  4. Hey, my lovelies! I stated in the video that I used WAY TOO MUCH SOAP, so repeating it in the comment section below really isn't productive.

In future, I will use about 1-2 tsp of soap and dilute it with plenty of water. Thank you all for that tip! 🖤

  5. Dr. Bronner's is technically not pure castile soap. It's basically a natural liquid soap made with oils and lye. Pure castile soap is technically 100% olive oil and lye. (I make my own natural bar soap at home). The liquid soap shouldn't leave your locs feeling dry because there should be some moisture due to the oils the soap is made with. The only issue will be with the ph of the soap. It's not the same ph as hair, most people who wash their hair with natural soap usually use baking soda or ACV to bring the hair back to the correct ph. Natural liquid soap does cleanse very well. When I wash things with my bar soap it cleans better than any regular soap I've purchased. I personally use African black soap to wash my locs, I liquify it myself and add lots of beneficial ingredients. African black soap is 100% natural soap as well, I liquify it using vegetable glycerin and herb infused distilled water.

  6. I also dilute it before using it otherwise it is a bit much. Love all your updates and am so happy you tried Dr Bronners.

  7. I'm so glad you gave Dr.Bronners peppermint another chance and you're happy with the results. It's the only shampoo I've used on my locs for the last 2yrs with the exception of Kinky Curly Come Clean shampoo, it's all natural as well with an excellent lather. Sometimes I'll mix them together. But yes Dr.Bronners is the truth! I like it as a facial cleanser and body wash as well..I just wouldn't recommend it for the yoni area. The citrus version is way more gentler and great as a shampoo, facial cleaners and full body wash. I eventually want to try the lavender version.
You and your locs are beautiful!! Keep up the great content 💕

  8. Hi Wini, another suggestion re diluting I find useful. Stir 2 tablespoons of dr bronners in a mug of water. First drench locs with lots of water then pour a third cup of diluted dr b's over locs. You'll have enough for 3 washes and it comes out well moisturised and squeaky clean. Love Yanni's & also your tips! Thank you for sharing xx

  9. I'm glad you tried it. I never meant my comment to be taken as not to use it. I wanted to mention that if you do use it and you don't get the great results many do, it could be due to it not mixing well with your water. I hope it continues to work well for you as we are all on the hunt for great products for our crowns! Love this update!

  10. Just wondering if your using it under the shower do I need to dilute it? If so how much water to shampoo? Thankyou

  11. FYI Dr. Bronner is a over 150 year old family business (with interuptions during the Nazi time since the family was jewish – therefore the religious stuff on the bottle). Today they are located in a small town in Germany next to Dusseldorf. I can recommend all of their products – they produce soap with love, passion and with the well being of their employees and the environment in mind.

  12. LOVE Dr Bronners! I use the Rose Hemp mixed 1:4 with distilled water. I rinse with Apple Cider Vinegar in a 1:1 with water.

It's amazing in my 3a, waist length hair. I finish it off with flaxseed gel, but some people may need a higher hold product than flaxseed.

  13. I use only Dr. Bonner's soap on my locs along with rose water mixed with vitamin E oil and I also use wild growth oil for my scalp. I wash my locs once a month to avoid build up. You might want to try the other scents they have they're all nice🤗

  14. I used the dr.bronners for the first 3 years of my loc journey but I switched to just the plain blue dawn soap they use for the ducks in the past year and I didnt notice until I started using that out of desperation how much build up the dr.bronners was leaving, I feel like the dr.bonners makes my hair too soft n smooth to loc up properly since I already have rlly silky n straight hair, although I do miss the tingley peppermint since I dont get my hair maintenanced anymore I have to use jus the dish soap and coconut oil on the ends because it is very drying so you cant use it too frequently but it definitely washes my dreads the best and leaves them feeling sooo much lighter than the dr.bronners does

  15. Hello from overseas Winnie, thanks for posting this video. I dilute one-fifth of a cup of Dr. B., one-fifth of cup of neem oil, and three-fifths of a cup of distilled water into a mixing bowl. Then I funnele 3 mixture into an empty (foam soap) dispenser bottle. It last so long!

I love this claifiying combination on my natural hair!

products on my natural hair as well. I

  16. When you disregarded that pH balance part in the beginning, that really worried me—only because the science behind that is so important—even if some people don’t like to think so.

So for those that want to know about that. The reason people say that using a Castile soap for your locs would be bad is because it’s high in pH. A high pH soap for your hair opens up the cuticles to your hair, which leaves it very dry, brittle and overtime will cause damage. So the pH balance is actually VERY important to loc care. And using tap water with it is even worst because it increases the pH of an already high pH soap. Castile soaps register on the pH scale at around 8.9. That’s twice as much than an ideal loc shampoo. pH scales are in nature and it’s important to understand why we should understand what it is and what it means for our hair.

Basically what I’m saying is, just because something says that it’s “natural” doesn’t mean that it is GOOD for your hair. Tomatoes can be natural, doesn’t mean you should brush your teeth with them, rocks are formed naturally in nature, doesn’t mean you should—you get the idea.

I have this soap; technically because of the properties, it’s not even a shampoo. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned about this soap, is that it washes away EVERYTHING! It strips away not only build up, but your natural oils in your skin as well—to the extreme. I used it as a body wash and had to immediately moisturize with raw Shea butter just for my skin to feel normal again.

I’m sure more research will be put into this product for hair and your scalp, but so far, this soap is a no go…for your hair/scalp.

  17. Take HEED To WARNING:

  18. "Wow! Now I know, I used it wrong. I didn't dilute it. And…Omg. It was soo strong. "But, I truly love the Peppermint smell. Afterward's I put it away, a didn't touch it again..🤣 "But after watching your video, and realizing I went about it all wrong, I'll have to give it another try. I have a while to wait, because I've just started my Loc journey again. Soo Thank's for such "great info
