Sharing with you my best skincare purchases of all time and the products which have transformed my skin and the way I approach my skincare routine.

Hey guys and welcome back to Mad About Skin where in todays video I wanted to share with you the best skincare purchases I made and the predicts which have genuinely transformed my skin and my approach to skincare.

When it comes to skincare I have been on a bit of a journey in the past 5 years and there are so many products which have come and gone. Today though I want to focus in on the skincare which made the biggest difference to my skin and skincare routine and the best skincare purchases of all time when it comes to the benefits these products have brought.

These skin care products might not still be in my skin care routine today but they have shaped the products I use today for sure and I have linked them all below.

This video was inspired by a similar one on the Youtube channel No BS Beauty and I would totally recommend you check out Sarah on that channel and show her some love:

I would love to know what you think is the best skincare purchase you have ever made is so let me know in the comments section below.

If you enjoyed this video and would like to see more like it then let me know by giving it a big thumbs up and a like.

  1. Hey guys and welcome to todays video which is sharing with you the best purchasing decisions I ever made when it comes to skincare.. Dont forget to join us later for our weekly livestream and sending you all so so much love xxxxxxxxx

  2. Hi Rob! I desperately need your help! Pleaseโ€ฆ I want to add Azelaic Acid to my night time routine, but I am not sure where exactly to put it, in said routine.
Currently my routine is Double Cleanse, first essence, toner, essence, 2 serums, Curology Tret prescription (Tretinoin 0.009%, with Tranexamic Acid 5% & Niacinamide 4%) which is a cream consistency, then Moisturizer. Sometimes I add a cpl drops of face oil into the moisturizer too. I currently have The Ordinary 10% Azelaic Acid which, you know, is also a cream. So I wasnโ€™t sure where exactly to add this and was hoping you could shed some light!
Does it go before or after the Tret? Before the serums or essence? Etcโ€ฆ etcโ€ฆ
I know certain ingredients should go before or after others, but also layering things based on consistency is a thing too!!! So any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

  3. My recent discovery is a brand called The Transparent Lab – their retinal cream is bomb! I also love their Protect+Correct antioxidant serum and ceramide one ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Honestly love your videos opening my eyes to new products!
Do you get your Korean skin care online ?
I'm from England but lived in Australia for years and can't get some ingredients/products here, do you Amazon or go to actual website ? ๐Ÿ˜€

  5. Hey there! I want to incorporate the retinoid in squalene (1%) by The ordinary in a rootine with the azelaic acid, is that possibile? I know that azelaic acid is very special cause it doesnโ€™t make lots of combinations problem but Iโ€™m still scared for my skin since Iโ€™m already adding something as new as retinol derivatives for the first time

  6. I tend to save up all my reusable cotton rounds in a laundry net & just do one wash per week. 1000 wash lifespan for a product washed once weekly = over 19 years! 300 washes in 98 weeks since the Garnier launch in October 2020 = lifespan of 6.6 years & a heck of a lot of washing water. Like you always say, gotta save that coin!

  7. Hi Rob a few of mine are:
Retinoids – tretinoin really helped me with the skin density issues I had during perimenopause. Unfortunately worsening rosacea meant I had t step down a bit in strength, but I do love the Agame featured and am happy with the results I get from it.
Azelaic acid – this works so well for me and the derivative or weaker percentages were a great introduction, but the 15% prescription Finnacea has been a game changer. Buying those initial azelaic acid products was one of my best purchasing decisions ever.
Ultrasun spf's have been a favourite for many years and are still a go to for high UV days. If the rosacea would allow I would use them daily, but as is I use a mineral spf for incidental exposure days and the Ultrasun when I need the harder working protection (it's too drying for everyday use for me now). I do use the lip spf most days still.
LRP baby Lipikar AP+M – switching to a face and body moisturiser at night was one of my best purchasing decisions. I have such dry skin I was ploughing through 50ml face creams at high speed and this was an expensive endeavour. The larger sizes of these face and body products have allowed me to slather on enough moisturiser without worrying about running out too quickly. This is one of my favourites, but there are others I enjoy in similar formulations from other brands.
Bioderma sensibio misceller water – I had tried a variety of misceller waters from various brands at various price points, but I had liked them ok and didn't really get the hype. Some of them were terrible and stung my eyes and skin – not all misceller waters are created equal. I tried this one and it is the best I have used for my skin – super gentle on my skin and most importantly my rosacea affected eyes. It's actually soothing when my eyes are sore and it's worth paying a little more for it. I buy it on offer and it's not too badly priced in my opinion, but it has made misceller water a staple in my collection.
Cleansing oils/balms – this type of cleanser made a huge difference and it's not one product/brand. Switching to these type of cleansers is something my extremely dry, rosacea and eczema prone skin responded really well to. Cream and milk cleansers are also a great option for me and I no longer use traditional foaming cleansers or gel cleansers at all.
    Best wishes.

  8. I love how you say your mum is always right! I'm trying to tell my son that but its tough trying to educate some of these young uns…. LOL….. ๐Ÿ˜›

  9. Hi Rob my skin is normal to dry. And I got hyperpgmntn. I got face theory lumiza15. Used it once. I wanted to know for the best results should we use it daily or twice a week??

  10. Did you just say you in your 30s? To me you look more like 25 or less
Also biore sunscreen is great. I still get oily after applying, but itโ€™s the only one that doesnโ€™t irritate my eyes and doesnโ€™t make me orange or other insane things
