I learned how to care for my curls through watching the natural hair community on YouTube. That creative community helped my learn that I wasn’t using enough conditioner to keep my curls looking healthy. Over the years I’ve developed some favorites and I’m still trying new products all the time. In this video I mention the following:

1. Curl Enhancing Smoothie by Shea Moisture
2. Keihl’s Olive Fruit Oil Deeply Repairative Hair Pak
3. Pattern (entire line) by Tracee Ellis Ross
4. One Condition by DevaCurl
5. Cherry Almond Conditioner by Aveda
7. Gold Quinoa + Protein Absolut Repair by L’Oreal Professionnel

Thank for watching!

  1. I've recently been really liking "Cantu Shea Butter for Natural Hair Moisturizing Curl Activator Cream". I know it's not exactly a conditioner, but I sort of use it as a "two-in-one" product for leave-in conditioner & styler which enhances my waves and really cuts down on frizz.

  2. Great information, I just bought the curl Enhancing smoothie by Shea Moisture, it smell really nice and look forward to trying it. 👩🏻‍🦳🌺

  3. I'll have to try the aveda one. The shea moisture enhancing smoothie is a curl creme. Be careful using deva curl, they have lawsuits against them. There's many people that have had scalp issues and hair loss.😊

  4. Thanks for this. If there is one thing I have learnt on my journey is that curly grey hair is very thirsty. I use a deep conditioner twice a week. My favourites are the jessicurl deep conditioner and curly world with or without hue.

  5. If I’m not mistaken the Deva Curl brand had some reactions with quite a few customers. Some serious reactions. You might want to look into that. I’ve started using a brand called Viori & it’s a soap 🧼 shampoo & conditioner. My grey hair has never felt better 😊💕

  6. I’m soon to be 47 and stopped coloring my hair about 7 years ago. My gray is more like highlights right now.
I had Shirley Temple curls when I was little then as I got older it was just frizzy and not really curly. I flat ironed for years and then my curls came back and since 2007 I’ve been struggling to find a shampoo and conditioner that helps the curls, dryness and keeps the gray from turning yellow.

I have to be careful with anything that has oils in it cause for me it just sits on top of my hair and makes it feel dirty and not hydrated.

Anyways I’m glad to find your videos and hopefully I can find something from the products you use that can help me.

I don’t follow curly girl method cause it makes my hair look horrible and worse in the Texas humidity

Do you have a video about shampoos?

    Thank you

  7. I like the Maui Moisture Curl Quench Coconut Oil Curl Smoothie for Thick Curly Hair. It's a leave in softening Curl enhancer. It really does soften without without weighing you're curls down. I don't like Maui Moisture Shampoos or conditioners. But I do like their oil mists. The oil mists are potent and are NOT for thin hair. They smell great too.

  8. Curl Smith's Bond Curl Rehab Salve, and Olaplex No 3 and No 0 are my favorite when it comes to helping my hair regain elasticity after heat styling. Joico also has some really good conditioners as well, I have the Moisture Recovery and K-Pak Intense Hydrator from that brand.
