Thank you lovely. Ok yes, i'm glad you see where i'm coming from with the pronunciation, lol
yes i agree with this comment lOl that was so funny .. because idk either 🙂 great video !
Came across your today. Thanks so much for posting this information. I just BC'd on 4th of July and I have been experiencing VERY DRY HAIR! Every style I do such as finger coils, twists, two-strand twist, wash and go's…all turn out DRY! What am I doing wrong. HELP!
So sorry to hear that, dont get discouraged because it will take some time to figure out the problem of why your hair is dry. It may be a porosity issue, meaning is your hair highly porous or low in porosity. It could be the moisturizers that your using. You may have hard water and need to get your hair back to it's ph balanced state with an ACV rinse or some other remedies. Are you sealing your moisture in with an oil? altho some people dont have to do this. Are you Deep conditioning?
Hey! Thanks for your response. You may be right about the hard water problem at my house, so I'm going have to work that out. I have ran across videos about ACV rinses I think from Naptural85, so maybe I need to get some over the weekend and try it out. Yes, I do seal in my moisture with either coconut oil or castor oil. And I try to do a DC once a week. Thanks again for suggestions and troubling shooting with me. Looking forward to more videos. 🙂
OH wow that is something new. Everyone has their own way of doing things that work for them. way to be creative anita
Yes Try some things to combat the dryness. Acv's are not for me so I use the roux porosity control conditioner. I will have to try ACV's again to really determine if my hair likes it, I just may not have been doing it right though bc my hair was even harder and dryer than before. Porosity control I dont have to worry about mixing lol. Let me know your outcome with getting your hair moisturized.
LOL I know Naya, Sometimes I crack myself up. My words get so twisted together. smh
I made this video a while ago and Its pretty long to watch it again, but I'm sure I said something along the lines of Aphoghee two step protein being used every 6 weeks. (This is the instructions on the bottle). I'm a little confused by your questions, NOnetheless everyone is different and cannot use protein as much as others. My hair loves it. Protein overload is the worst, I hope you were able to balance it out with moisture and deep conditioning.
Again, I use a hard protein every 3 months (12 weeks) even though the bottle says it can be used every 6 weeks. I may use a light protein here and there between those 3 months. I hope I have somewhat answered your questions
Thank you for this video! Your video and another video helped me to realize i have protein overload. I am now going to organize my products moisture based (no protein) and protein based and alternate each week and Im going to see how that goes! Im also going to check out the book = the science of black hair!
Yay Thatallqt, I'm so glad this video and another could help you to realize that you have protein overload. ANd yes organizing your products is a good idea. Also, dont be afraid to read the list of ingredients before you buy it in the stores. I know some people say they feel that they be in people way or taking to much time on the isle. But if you want healthy hair you will know your protein and moisture balance and also recognize what your hair likes.
Love your vid! I recently did a henna treatment and my.hair now feels dry…so in.goin to try a acv rinse and dc this wkend…will that help restore the moisture?..clearly my hair don't like henna?
Now and ACV rinse helps with porous hair (balancing PH), removes build up from hair and locks in moisture by closing the cuticle. A lot of people have said that it made their hair nice and shiny. You have to be very careful to not use to much acv over the water used to dilute it. ACV is not for me because it just seemed to do nothing for my hair, no good and no bad. Deep conditioning with heat is the only way that I get my moisture back when I do henna or protein treatments..
Awww thank you rita, I try to give out correct, honest, unbiased info. HOpe you had a very merry xmas and will have a prosperous new year. Be Beautiful!!!!
Ok let me know how the aphogee 2 min comes out for you, moisture moisture moisture after it, and you taught me something new because I never heard of the CLT treatment. I just looked it up and you say your recovering from it, does that mean that you had protein overload from it? If so, I would definitely wait on the aphogee 2 min even though it is a light to med protein.
Thanks for your your info, very helpful. Can you help me with something please. I'm bought a treatment that i thought was for deep conditioning moisture but when I checked the ingredients it has protein in it, it's called (Every Strand Olive Oil Treatment) I'd like to know I'd it's a moisture treatment or not. There's also another one which is the (Every strand Aloe Vera treatment) I'm confused with the purposes of both. Could you tell me which can be used for deep moisture conditioning? Thanks
Hey JuMONAE,thanks for stopping by. I tried to do some research on the two products you named but I did not get much, also we must not sell it where I live because I have never seen this. I finally found the ingredients and they are not bad. the stearyl alcohol and Cetearyl Alcohol are not the drying bad alcohols so that is good, as they act like an emoillent or softener for the hair. This is definitely geared towards a protein conditioner, but they can be moisturizing as well.
If you are looking for a deep conditioner without protein, then this is not the one. Some people's hair cannot take protein very well. My hair does well with protein so I now use a protein deep conditioner every other time i wash. protein is used to strengthen and restore your hair, especially if it is dry, brittle, damaged or color treated. Eden body works jojoba monoi or coconut shea is a good deep conditioner.
There are also two ingredients that I know in the natural world are looked down upon. Those are mineral oil and lanolin, so look them up bc they are in that product of the EVery Strand Olivie oil tx. Remember I could not find anything on the aloe vera tx
omg, i didnt know this hair regime thing would be so confusing. sigh:) i bought the 'Shea butter green tea reconstructing treatment from softsheen carson's Roots Of Nature line' which is supposed to be a protein treatment and then i had the 'Every strand olive oil treatment' to follow as a deep conditioning moisture. But now your saying based on your assesment the 'olive oil' is gearing toward the protein side. so if thats the case i cant use it right? cause ill be over dosing on protein, sigh!
Dont let it be confusing for you. They say natural hair rules, which to a certain extent is true but go by WHATEVER your hair LIKES. If it responds well to the shea product followed up with the ESOO treatment then use it.The ESOO does not have a lot of protein in it, as its moisturizing properties outweigh it. So it should be ok to use them together, just see how your hair likes it. Most products may have some sort of protein in it anyway. Try da eden line, if you end up not liking that combo.
Appreciate the product recommendation, is this a new line? and I most definitely get y hair trimmed regularly, growth is not a goal of mine so one can cut off as much as needed.
Why is everyone so afraid of mineral oil?…all the women in my family use products with mineral oil and their hair is mid back length….im growing out my hair and I use mineral oil and my hair grows like a weed….and my ends stay thick and never split..
I believe hair will grow regardless of what you put n it, as long as you keep your ends trimmed and keep moisture in it. There are products that I have used with harsh chemicals but I believe that my conditioning outweighed those other chemicals like, parabens, mineral oil and lanolin oil. Mineral oil is said to make the hair look shiny and sleek but only coat the hair blocking out necessary moisture. NOT ALL….blocking some moisture and hair is not moisturized as long as it could be thru day.
Thx girl!!! xxx
Listen gels do nothing but cause your hair to be dry and drop out I am saying this from experience all those watching this video don't put that crap in your hair because it aldo causes dandruff
