I have been making my own amazing scented whipped body butter for over a year now. It’s a love affair to not over spend on store bought body butter anymore. My recipe cost me 1/4th the cost of a $19 jar from The body Shop and other brand name body butters that has questionable chemical ingredients. I was inspired by fashion this summer to make thus colorful rainbow. I apply my body butter right after a shower and it moisturized my skin until the next day! A eight ounce jar last me about two and a half months. Try this fluffy body moisturizer recipe because will will be addicted! Plus, you will smell fabulous and have silky skin with pure natural ingredients. Don’t forget to make these babies as gifts for friends and family!

So…. What is body butter? It is a cream texture that is excellent at hydrating and protecting the skin, especially during winter and people with dry skin. The skin becomes softer and less prone to cracking or becoming inflamed when using a natural body butter. It can help minimize wrinkles, scars, and stretch marks.

♥ Recipe can make two 8 oz Jars with a shelf life of 6-8 months:
-1 1/3 Cup Shea Butter or use any butter base you like. I like shea, mango, avocado, and coconut butter the most for my skin: http://www.soapgoods.com/Butters-c-60.html http://www.fromnaturewithlove.com/soap/product.asp?product_id=BUTSHEAX
-1/2 Cup Carrier Oil (Sweet almond oil or olive oil from grocery store) http://www.soapgoods.com/Vegetable-Oils-c-66.html
-1 Teaspoon Vitamin E Oil (Natural preservative to extend the self life to 6 to 8 months and can be purchased at the drugstore) http://www.soapgoods.com/Vitamin-E-Tocopherols-Natural-p-667.html
-Optional to make it less greasy: 2 Tablespoon Corn Starch (grocery store), Tapioca Starch (grocery store), or finely milled Oatmeal which I personally prefer because it soothes irritated and itchy skin like poison ivy/oak/sumac, rashes, insect bites, and eczema. It also soothes prickly heat, chicken pox, hives or sunburn. Try Aveeno or google colloidal powder: http://www.google.com/search?q=aveeno+oatmeal+powder&hl=en&client=safari&rls=en&tbm=shop&source=lnms&sa=X&ei=P5__T9CYF6qw2QWu5uCcBA&ved=0CBEQ_AUoBQ&biw=1785&bih=953 http://www.fromnaturewithlove.com/product.asp?product_id=ORGCOLLOATULTRAFINE
-Optional to scent: 1/2-1 Teaspoon Essential Oil or Body Safe Fragrance Oil and you can buy store brand popular scents from Victoria’s Secret or Bath and body from http://www.fromnaturewithlove.com/soap/FO-S.asp. Also, you can be purchased body safe scented oils at Wholefoods, AC Moore Craft Store, or online soap making shops: http://www.acmoore.com/search.aspx?categoryid=301&showall=false , soap making craft store, http://www.soapgoods.com/, & http://www.fromnaturewithlove.com/soap/default.asp.
-Optional to color: 1-2 Teaspoon of Water Soluble Colorant or Soap color which will not stain your skin and it’s safe to use for face and body: http://www.acmoore.com/search.aspx?categoryid=301&showall=false, http://www.soapgoods.com/Colors-c-100.html. (FYI: You can try food coloring with caution BUT ONLY A FEW DROPS TO AVOID STAINING YOUR SKIN. PLEASE SAMPLE TEST ON SKIN FIRST)
-*****THE MORE YOU WHISK, THE MORE FLUFFY YOUR BODY BUTTER WILL BE SO KEEP MIXING UNLESS YOU PERFER THE TEXTURE TO BE DENSE. ITS UP TO YOU IF YOU WANT STIFF OR SOFTER PEAKS TO DETERMINE WHEN IT’S DONE.********

  1. I just made this but came out too greasy and grainy. It harden after I put it in the container. Anyone has any advice on how to fix it?

  2. I remember when I wanted to make this a couple years ago…I didn't have any shea butter so I used actual butter

  3. oh my lord I remember this! It's been so long! this is what got me into making my own products instead of buying them!😄

  4. I used my Pyrex jug like this and mine was a proper glass one as I didn’t have my normal bowl unpacked andpyways my Pyrex jug cracked and when I pulled it out of the water it shattered so I suggest you put either a jar lid or a chux cloth under the jug if your dung it this way. I bought 2 Aluminium Jugs with handles and they work great, you can place both at the same time in a slow cooker on high with water or you can place a Stainless Steel Mixing bowl over a pan of simmering water – a tip if using the stainless steel bowl is that it will actually cool a lot more quicker then any other bowl, making your mixture ready sooner. BY 30mins.

I’m wondering how much is your container and how much you sell yours for ( in AUD if you can)

  5. I want to ask about colors that she used…… what type? …….. are they the colors used for coloring food !!!!!!

  6. so does the water soluble dye bother any of the products or make them expire faster? being that the butter is oil based and water and oil don't mix? just asking for myself

  7. Hi I'm using my husband's Google account. But can you please send me the link where you got your soap dye? I know I could easily go on Amazon but I absolutely love the colors you used. The link at the top is not working 😰😦
