I worked 19 years for Wally world.. knowing their policies very well. I push until I get the item and probably would have opened the pallet to get what I need.
The biggest problem with the pallet being up in the steel not everyone is qualified to operate.
I call to home office of the big box stores often helps too.😉

I was told by a cashier at our local Home Depot in NY, that the website, and what is actually in the store, are two separate entities, and not an actual reflection of what is in the store. I was told this when I mentioned I was happy to see they had the furnace filters I needed in stock, because the website said they didn't have any in store, and that I would have had to order them online from a different Home Depot store.

That’s nuts and I would’ve let my child at that point run a muck because a toddler can’t behave that long and if someone said something I would’ve just said that’s what happens when you have someone wait 2 hours for you to do your job! I’m extremely nice to retail workers because people can be so rude but that was ridiculous they had you sit there that long.

Good customer service has gone out the window. We have a hardware store here in my community that has the best customer service. The young men are polite, knowledgeable and meet every customer at the door. It has been this way for over 40 years. I wish our big box stores could be trained by the owner!
