I think you may have gotten heat damage with the john frieda 3 day straight. Unless it has high levels of sodium hydroxide (which is found in relaxers), the product should have not been able to straighten your hair.

I'm also thinking about using the john frieda 3-day straight to help straighten my hair, as the humidity is frizzing my hair really bad. however, after your comments I'm worried about my hair texture loosening. did you wash your hair with a sulfate shampoo to remove all silicones etc. afterwards?
