I saw some expensive, beautiful “glass plastic” dividers in planners by upscale companies. So when I purchased some thing that came in a very hard, very clear plastic package, I carefully cut it and punched it with my disk bind or punch to create one for free. Since then I have used the rigid clear plastic on boxes of sliced cheese to do something similar on smaller disc binders.…, top tab dividers, side tab dividers, bookmarks. They look really nice with clear tape labels with a white or colored font printed on them (I use a brother labeler). So if you like planners to keep track of your life, whether you have a disc binder or a ring binder, you can do something like this also! I also use beautiful papers to cover ugly paper dividers, and to create bookmarks etc.
plastic boxes with securely Snapon lids are also good for terrariums, or for sprouting seeds (as long as you give them a little bit of air during the day so they don’t get moldy… Keeping it closed a lot keeps the soil evenly moist.) If you take the lid off of it, they make an expensive/free drainage dish for plants in pots. You can also use them to store seeds if they are fairly stable when you open and close them. This is great if you do a lot of sprouting and you want to keep a small amount of seats close to your sprouting system.

I re-use some plastic containers because only plastic #1 and #2 are recyclable. For #3-7, I try to make something from them. I especially like the black ones.
