Hi everyone! It’s time for the second video in our Holiday Series! In this video, I’m making Flannel & Amber Soap. I just love how warm and comforting and down right addicting scent this is. It’s such a joy. This soap is sold out for now but I think it has a spot in the regular line-up…maybe for a St. Patrick’s Day theme!

Why doesn’t your video have a recipe and supply list? This video is not a tutorial. Please check out the helpful links above.

How do I get started in soapmaking? Start off by researching. Educate and then experiment. Be sure to follow all proper safety precautions. A great starting place is the beginner cold process soapmaking series by SoapQueenTV here on YouTube. You can then purchase all the supplies you need at Bramble Berry. Lovin Soap Studio also has a beginner series on YouTube.

Why don’t you share your cold process soap recipe? Our recipe is proprietary. We are contractually obligated to keep our recipe a secret. I do occasionally share a test recipe. I highly recommend Bramble Berry, Lovin’ Soap, and The Nerdy Farm Wife for free recipes. Those resources are a great starting point and then you can tweak your favorite recipe to make it your own.

Where do you buy your oils? We purchase our oils in bulk at Blossom Bulk, Soapers Choice, Jedwards International, and Wholesale Supplies Plus.

Where did you buy your molds? My husband builds all my wood molds. My silicone molds are from various suppliers.

Where did you buy your soap planer? My husband built the soap planer for me.

Where did you buy your soap cutter? We purchased our soap cutter at Bud’s Woodshop.

Where did you buy your soap loaf splitter? Our loaf splitter was purchased from Smith Creek Studio.

Where do you buy your soaping containers? My pitchers are from School Masters and my large plastic containers are from Webstaurant Store.

Where do you buy your fragrance oils? We purchase our oils from many different suppliers. We don’t have a one-stop-shop for all of our oils. We blend the majority of the fragrances we work with.

Where do you buy your colors? We buy our colors at Bramble Berry, Nurture Soap, and Mad Micas.

Where do you buy your coconut milk? I was buying So Delicious Organic Coconut Milk on Amazon but I think you all bought them out! Ha! I now buy Native Forest Organic Coconut Milk. Please don’t buy them out. I need coconut milk. lol

Where do you buy your soap boxes? We usually buy our boxes from Wholesale Supplies Plus or Elements Bath and Body.

How do you design and print your labels? I use Adobe Photoshop to design my labels. I use full sheet labels and print with our HP Laser Jet Pro printer.

Where do you buy your packaging materials? We buy our packaging materials at various suppliers including Paper Mart, ULine, Nashville Wraps, Eco Enclose, and Amazon.

Do you give classes? No, I do not offer classes. However, if you need help, leave me a comment and I’ll see what I can do.

Why are the comments disabled on your older videos? Due to some very negative, hateful, and vile comments, I am no longer allowing commenting on older videos. The older videos seem to be the ones targeted. Newer videos may have approved comments for a time. I welcome decent, respectful comments.

  1. Hi Holly, LOL your son thought you were mad, throwing things….made me giggle. That green is amazing! Yes about the windows HAHA looking at mine right now. 😬 Loving the soap!

  2. I really like this Holly! Frankencense and Myrr smells nice by the way. I made some wax melts with it and its a nice scent, I think you'll like it.

  3. Sorry I didn't get to order anything this go round😔. By the time I remembered your release was open and ready, everything I REALLY wanted was sold out, and I wasn't feeling the greatest. My son gave me an electric wax warmer for my bday this year, so I'll finally be able to use the wax melts I've been ordering for myself, instead of giving them away for Christmas 🎄!

  4. Beautiful!!! My husband and I love watching your videos! Thank you, your so inspiring and real. I work the same way you do lol I just placed my first order too! I cant wait too receive my soap 😁

  5. Beautiful and warm… great selection ✔from one Holly to another during this Holly Day time.

  6. Frankincense and Myrrh is a very light woodsy scent. It’s one of those that tends to soap really well and doesn’t discolor. But you also need to use a little more to smell it real well.

  7. I’m sad I missed this one in your shop but glad to see I’ll get another chance at it soon. I love love love the Amber & Musk fragrances. I just love these!! You can sure tell you’ve been soaping for quite some many years, because of how steady that hand is, with even a larger stick blender! I just barely keep control with a small one! 😂 And this last release was sooooo Amazing and such a BEAUTIFUL lineup! I got the release before and missed out on just a couple this time but I’m sooo happy 😊 with what I did get! Looking forward to the next release for sure! 😄😄

  8. Hi Holly, Love your videos!! I have been working on my own soaps and I wanted to pick your brain about why you add your milk before thin trace? And why you don't usually freeze your milk and add the lye to the frozen milk?

  9. Where did you get your new big pot? I like it and need a new one. Thank you Holly.

  10. I used a similar fragrance in my soap and the top of my gray-blue sky soap turned bright green 💚😫. I really like the smell but I'm leary about using it again out of fear it will discolor my batch.

  11. Another great video. I love the colours and think they are perfect for the smell, being woodsy, and I like that they are not your usually colours. I myself have a hard time being diversely with my colour schemes so I wish I too could be more adventuress. Kudos to your husband.

  12. The metal scraping on the metal 🙉🙉🙉🙉 when using the stick blender.

  13. Hello- Love your products!!! Can I asked what you recommend for shipping labels in collaboration with USPS?
Do you use your HP or do you have a thermal laser printer to print your shipping labels?

  14. It looks like a cable knit sweater on top! Goes with the flannel theme!!! Jill Gross
