We’ve received a TON of questions about how/if we can carry-on each of our suitcases given (1) the large liquids in our toiletry bag and (2) their seemingly higher than allowed weight. To clarify, we do NOT carry our suitcases on our flights. We check them, which is generally included in the international and domestic flights we book. We use and prefer traveling with a carry-on suitcase because they are way easier to travel with long term across destinations. Whether we’re lugging them on and off trains across Europe or on and off a longtail boat in Thailand, they’re much better than a big checked suitcase. Also, our carry-ons always fit into the trunk of cars when we road trip around countries. So, we pack our carry-ons to maximize space and get around countries easier for 2-3 month trips. Hope this makes sense! Let us know if you have any other questions.
How much does it weigh?
Great video.
She is so cute, but the hair is absolutely beautiful.
Taking my first train ride for a week's stay in Florida in August. This video is very helpful. Now mind you, I grew up moving, and I mean over a hundred times (LOng story but true) so I'm not slouch when it comes to finding nooks and crannies… but I think I need to invest in packing cubes!
do a whole seasons capsule clothes for scarry on
+ backpack
Thanks a lot for the tips. ❤
How do you avoid overweight at the airport
Maybe get some luggage with anti-lock brakes why don't you. Geeks.
A few good tips in amongst hundreds of advertisements.
😊 will take your advice 😁
flat vs rolling. Which one is better? let the comments below decide
I was in military
Packing cubes are fine but I still roll and compact all my clothes.
In a carry on I can get 3 weeks of clothes.
But I don’t travel to hike etc I do walk in the cities and towns .
If I need something I buy it and give it away when I leave
I once traveled to the UK from the US for a week with just a small backpack. It was fantastic
I never use packing cubes. They take up unnecessary space. I pack 10 days into a single carry-on and vacation for 21 days with one wash in between. Instead of cubes I put pullovers, sweaters, jeans into vacuum-shrink bags that shrink such into 1/2 their volume and pack 2 x more. Cubes are useless. Also once in a hotel, everything goes into the safe except for 2 credit cars and 20 or 40 Euros cash. That's all I have on my possession. One credit card does 99% of my purchases. The 2nd is only if there's a glitch with 1st. I never carry a wallet out of the hotel. Ever. Want to rob me? Fine you get $30 + 2 cards I'll have cancelled in minutes after you leave.
The candy part killed me. LOL
You aren't going to like this but, I just traveled this weekend. I have to say, people who carry on the size of luggage you are showing are extremely obnoxious! You slow down the unloading process. Quit being so selfish, check the darn bags!! So sick of self absorbed people!!
thank you very much, that was really interesting
Super vidéo Merci pour votre aide. Voyage gratuit sur ma chaine.
After travelling for 3 years, I have to say that I am surprised that you haven't switched over to some solid items from liquids. We travel with solid shampoo and conditioner, lotion and toothpaste tabs. We also use a stick or powder sunscreen. I am also wondering why you have your shampoo and conditioner, full-sized toothpaste and nail polish in your toiletries bag, they should be in your liquids bag. There are a lot of things you can being doing to save space and lighten your load. Unless you check your suitcases which I doubt since you said carry-on only. As written in another comment, you need to carry photocopies of all your travel documents as well as your travel insurance.
You cant bring anything back from trips. Plus packing between hotels is so painful. Just get a checkin suitcase
I dont think we are allowed to carry on bags more than 15’’ of Height or bags less than 60 litres of capacity for Europe
Great video! What type of packing cubes do you recommend?
thank you for your practical tips, and your purchase decisions make sense even thought they are not the most trendy(sponsored) items on youtube/instagram. Your interactions are adorable and I enjoyed every minutes of the clip. Thank you.
Those aren't carry on. This is a couple that the stores are always saying you going to have to check that.
These are the people that are taking up the whole compartment.
how many lbs is that? only 20 lbs is allowed for a carry on, isn’t it?
They have dramamine made from 100% ginger powder now and it works pretty much perfectly for motion sickness. I tried it for my last flight and didn't feel sick at all.
Yesssss, flat packing. Nooooooo, rolling.
She sure does a whole lot of talking. Give the man a chance to talk/breathe…gosh
🇨🇦 Thanks for sharing, Great to see how the people in the know "do it". ️ Definitely going to look into getting that backpack…. Trēs chic
About 50% of these products are not really needed for travel. Wasting money.
Thank you for this video, I can relate to a lot and learning new things..I will look into the anti theft backpack but hopefully in a laptop bag, I carry my laptop everywhere as well as my camera a I'm a photographer…So a wonder thought has become a true fact with your video..Appreciate your detail to everything because I am the type who packs everything and the kitchen sink..
Hi, you didn’t list your backpack you didn’t put the link it’s only for the nomad just to let you know it’d be nice to see where I can get it. Thank you.
Also what size Mac book you didn’t say
OMG, how much does all that weigh? I couldn’t imagine lugging all that stuff around, carry-on or not!
Liquids cannot exceed 3.4fl oz (100mL) and creams & peanut butter are considered a liquid. Everything has to go into a single 1 quart size bag that is clear per person, not per bag.
The only exception is medication under special instructions and frozen water in your water bottles.
Although it would be easier to get collapsible water bottles and fill them up on the other side of the TSA screening.
Dude, WTH do you do with 15 shirts? And 10 bottoms (trousers + shorts)?!
If I go to warm places I take:
1 pair of trousers (on me) + 2 shorts (packed), either of which can be used for both swimming and daytime/leisure
4 t-shirts (1 on me, 3 packed), 1 long sleeve button-up
0 socks, 0 underwear (controversial, i know)
1 pair of shoes (on me), 1 pair of minimal sandals (packed)
1 packable rain jacket
If I go someplace cold, or mixed:
+1 trousers/-1 shorts
+1 full zip hoodie/-1 t-shirt
+1 packable puffy jacket
Either the hoodie, or the puffy jacket will be on me while traveling, depending if weather allows/requires it.
And the list(s) aren't just for a 1 week trip, I can live indefinitely with the above. Everything is merino wool (minus jackets and shorts), can be worn several days w/o washing and when it's time, easily washed by hand in any sink and dries super fast.
I use a 40l, carry-on sized backpack that carries everything – above clothing (compressed in packing cube), laptop, camera gear, mini drone, dopp kit, tech pouch, towel + a small sling for phone, wallet, documents, keys, smokes (pocket reliever, basically).
I take no liquids with me, so as to not need to take them out at security; the only "liquid" I need is toothpaste anyway and I always buy it in the airport after security and leave it behind as soon as I need to fly again; soap is a bar, deodorant is salt crystal, shampoo not needed (I'm bald), never use any sort of cream, can't stand to feel it on my skin. So dopp kit is also very minimal: bar soap, small crystal deo, foldable toothbrush, disposable razor, nail clippers.
Everything is streamlined/minimal. Even my belt has a plastic buckle, so I don't need to take it off at security.
But yea, you certainly don't need 15 tops and 10 bottoms. It's so much easier to wash as needed, than to lug them around all the time.
THANK YOU ❤️
Your suitcases are too heavy and you have too much stuff. This is standard travel, nothing groundbreaking.
