Have you tried Herpectin-L? The L is Lysine. Lysine is also in tablets to take daily and it is in Bactine, which can be sprayed onto a cotton ball and spread on the lips. Its worked GREAT for me.
great video Karen. I'm so glad you did this. i have severe dry lips and they crack and peel and then I pick at them also till they bleed. Very bad habit. But I don't find anything helps me either. Now I can shop armed with better knowledge as to what to look for. thanks.
Everyone needs to look at ingredients, too many of us put our trust in manufacturers. Even if someone isn't bothered about parabens.. You want the product to work, not make things worse, or do simply nothing. Mineral oil is ok, but better when you use a more natural oil, such as plant, seed, etc underneath then the mineral product on top as it tends to lock in the moisture. Sorry you had such bad lips 🙁 ever thought of putting your face/eye cream on lips? I do this at home then while out use a lip balm stick..stick is convenient and more germ free than pots. Fragrance, known irritant to skin on face.. Why is everyone obsessed with it in skincare? Urgh! I so wish they would stop putting it in.. If you want nice smells wear a perfume..not cause skin problems for people.. Glad your better, not long now for those braces 😀 x
very informative video…and going slightly off topic….I was wondering did you know Physicand Formula has launched in Ireland and I assume the Uk….would love to see some of their products reviewed as I have purchased some from the USA this past year
Great video Karen, very informative, I have lip balms everywhere and none really do what they're supposed to. Can you send me the names of 2, 3 & 4, I have the Lanolips already written down. Thanks for sharing. Hugs, Heather
Very interesting and informative video. I'm really impressed how well you have prepared yourself for this video. Not many YouTubers do that. Happy that I found your channel.
Do you know what's happening with PeasyBellaFontane? Xx
Great video! Next time you're near Holland and Barrett, pop in and have a look at the lip balms by Crazy Rumors. There's no crap in them – they're all natural and vegan, they come in a ton of flavours and they are around £3.99. I have several and I love them. Their website has the ingredients listed so you can easily see what's in them. xoxox

Great informative video thank you for doing this video. Try Jack Black this is the only one that really gets my dry lips under control when they are peeling and peeling, when my lips are just dry I use Elizabeth Arden to maintain them.
I love your makeup look here, great video Karen xxx
I swear by the fragrance free Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream-can't stand the smell/ taste of the scented-vile! But I've just bought the nuxe rev de miel to try with the ingredients being a bit nicer.. I've got it on my lips now and so far so good. Have you tried the lanolips tinted balms? I find them really good if you have sore lips but still want a little bit of colour during the day x
Brilliant Karen, I have tried so many too but never thought to look at the ingredients, I used to us the Bliteze cream years and years ago and I swore by it but it really does nothing for me now so not sure if the formula has changed.thanks for all the information x
I heard Dior were discontinuing that rose balm. Very interesting and gold star for your homework!!
Have you ever tried doing a lip scrub of sugar and oils (I use mineral, olive, jojoba, vitamin e and rose oils) When you watch it off, you should leave the oil on to moisturize your lips. I also like something probably everyone else doesn't like which is the tube of Carmex. I also like my Egyptian Magic Cream. Good thorough video Karen. I hope you are having a good weekend. ♥ Elle
Very interesting video Karen, thank you! Had similar problem with my lips (crazy weather and stress I think) and only Jack Black worked for me (thanks to Lori!), however it was a bugger to find (local Boots store ordered it in for me, at the time they only had access to natural mint flavour) and I ended up reading a lot about how the company didn't show the whole list of ingredients willingly. Sure enough on the pack and on the info sheet they only list 'cherry picked' ingredients and failed to mention the 'nasties'. I still rate the product but am not impressed with the company! It has nearly run out so your video was well timed for me, think I may well try both the lanolips (had reactions to lanolin in the past but I understand this product uses very high quality lanolin) and the baby lips (discounted it as it from a 'make-up' brand!), so thanks again for taking the time to research so many varieties for us 🙂 x
Hi Karen, really enjoying your videos! I love the Lanolips too but I am very lucky that most lip balms work for me (except Carmex, yuck!) Have you tried looking in the men's section in Boots for the Jack Black? That's where I found it. Also pick up the Jack Black hand cream – it's really good.
Very informative video, a lot of drugstore load their products with loads of unnecessary 'fillers', which really should not be used on your face, shocking! I have now moved away from drugstore products and my skin has thanked me for it.
Hey Karen, lovely video as always ( I find your reviews to be so accurate in my case as well) and I agree with you so much on natural ingredients being so much better for you. The two things that have always always worked for me : honey ( I put a layer on my lips in the evening and wake up with baby soft moisturised lips ) And one recently found favourite the Paw Paw manuka honey lip balm from boots ( around £5/6 ) and you don't feel a drastic difference right away but after a few hours and the next day you feel your lips being stronger and a lot more moisturised . You should try them out , especially the honey, it's cheap and great for your lips and skin too 😉
The ingredients for the 8 hour nourishing Elizabeth arden lip balm I have found somewhere online and I was really glad as I could share this with you , however they're not looking too good … I have copied and lasted them from the website :

I have same issues with lips. Same science background. So I super appreciate the research and spreadsheet. Thanks immensely for telling your story and all the work you put together. Cheers
Makeup atelier paris has a lip care products that has alot of goodies in it, have you tried it?
Hi love your vid! 🙂
I'm having a really really bad dry, chapped, peeling lips plus cold sores around it and I was doing some research and stumbled upon your review which btw is very helpful… Thank you! 🙂
Since this review was 5months ago, I'm just wondering if lanolips is still your number 1? Coz I've heard/read a lot of good things about it and contemplating whether to buy it or not 🙁 x
Your makeup and hair are absolutely gorgeous! Love this video xx
Try using a store bought lip scrub and then use a lip balm
Hi
The Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Lip Protectant Stick SPF15 is brilliant in my opinion. It is £20 on the high street but I found it on the bay for £7. It is definitely the real thing. I got it in the tint honey, lovely neutral colour and I must say you don't have to keep reapplying it gives a good colour with just one pass. I also have it in clear. I use this at night and my lips look great and dare I say it….younger.
I meant to add that I do love the burt bees tinted lip balms but I think the Elizabeth Arden has better staying power than the burt bees.
Jack Black should be right under Lanolips!!!
i would love u guys try uriage bariederm lip balm..it really works for my perioral eczema..it soothe your lips while moisturising and i maybe just apply 2 times a day as it stays on lips
