  1. I went and stocked up last week on peach slices acne line. It was buy one get the other 40% off. I didn't get the moisturizer because I that it would be too much salicylic acid. Is there cleansing balm any good? I also have their snail essence toner thingy. I didn't buy that because I'm waiting on my k beauty from stylevana. I bought the bha toner and snail essence from cosrx. I also bought a lot of beauty of Joseon.

  2. Responding to your request for a theory of why some products seem to work randomly: could there be a connection of when you are going through your monthly cycle? Like maybe it works worse or better during that time? It’s worth checking out it’s all I’ve got lol

  3. I do love the tan luxe drops. I haven’t tried the ones included in this sale though. I’ve only used the tan luxe super glow hyaluronic self tan serum drops and it honestly gives the most natural/subtle glow to your skin. I’ve repurchased it a few times now! I have a fear of self tanners and turning streaky and orange..but I promise you these drops do NOT do that 😆 I see the strivectin creams all the time at Marshall’s and Tj Max. Only tried the eye cream from that brand. Was just meh for me. Hope you have a great weekend ❤

  4. I can’t use any kind of resurfacing or alcohol containing product day after retinol—I’m now almost to 1% prescription retinol lol and I don’t usually have sensitive skin. Right now if I don’t want peelie and pain I do retinol every two days lol

  5. I usually only buy K-BEAUTY skincare products, except for LRP or Cerave. But love to watch your reviews even on products I'm not very interested in. You made me chuckle when you talked about the Kardashians. 😂😂😂 I feel the same!! Many blessings!💖💖💖

  6. Unfortunately, I can’t offer any theories as to why, but I can commiserate lol I’ve definitely had the experience of soothing or ceramide heavy products working one day and not the next! I am a daily tretinoin user, so that’s not a variable in my case, but I would love to figure out why that happens!!!!! 🤯

  7. Freaking love that yo mom texted u about The Rolling Stones list! I have to look it up. Hugs

  8. The Rolling Stone article was just stupid, but I don't get why people got worked up over it vs. just writing it off as someone's opinion. You can rank "singers" in many ways without establishing separate categories, such as "best singer/songwriter", "most impressive vocal capabilities", "most emotive", "most influential", "best runs", "best live performers", "most commercially successful" etc. etc. The Rolling Stones article didn't do any of this or create a set of criteria that would make sense, and yet still tried to make something definitive. Ultimately that's where I think the article failed, it should have been passed along as a purely subjective list with singers put things in any order they wanted, or even a "informed people voted and this is what we came up with." It's like when someone tries to say "Britney Spears is a better vocalist than Christina Aguilera." This is both objectively inaccurate and Britney Spears herself has said she doesn't have the voice Christina does in interviews which is why I like to use it as an example. Saying "I like Britney Spears better than Christina Aguilera" or "I don't enjoy the musicality of Christina Aguilera so I prefer Britney" is very different and everyone is entitled to their own subjective opinion regardless of how objectively good or bad a singer is, so I could respect those opinions without having any reason to pushback. An article like this should have stuck to the latter format. Even though vocal ability is critical in my personal singer preference, I wouldn't rank any of my top 5 favorite singers (Jessie J, Nicole Scherzinger, Jojo, Sara Bareilles and P!nk) as the best ever nor do I personally enjoy everyone I'd rank objectively at the top.

As for the sale, the CEO glow is meh imo but not bad (I don't like vitamin c in oils, but I've received it in subscription boxes and prefer it to Biossance due to the smell). Perricone has been having direct sales on the 6oz ColdPlasma+ serum bottle for $99 so I'd go that route instead. Loli I like the quality, but if I'm remembering this one correctly there was something about it that made it feel a bit more like a drier (still nourishing) oil?

Regarding your Beekman reaction, or similar products, it almost seems like a damaged skin barrier reaction. My understanding is when some people stress out their skin barriers, lots of benign ingredients can cause sensitivity even if the ingredients generally do good. If you're having sensitivity the day after your retinol, I could see it being a stressed skin situation similar to how some people have irritation after shaving, etc. If I'm right, I don't think that means the product can't promote overall improved skin health, because in reality the ingredients don't even have the chance to work immediately when applied. It could mean the product has a non-balanced PH or you have a mild allergic reaction to the ingredients though. Personally I think there are too many good barrier supporting products that wouldn't cause this reaction to rely on the Beekman one.

  9. Ok first. I 💕 the Alphonse Mucha inspired shirt. 💫 I have not looked at Rolling Stone in a minute. My mind associates it with Almost Famous, which is in MY Top 5 movies. I think breaking artists into categories is a better way to rate them.

I picked up the Buttah Vibe during Cyber Monday per your recommendation.
    It’s incredible.
    TY Alice!

Everyone “❤” it and buy it in the Ulta app.

  10. the kopari lip glossy was too sticky for my preference, I have a tendency to "smoosh" my lips together a lot so I enjoy the more slippery products 👌

  11. So I didn’t see the Top Singers list, but I finished listening to Apple Music’s Top 100 Songs of 2022 and realized I’d heard ~4 of them before. They were only in the Pop category. Just makes me feel old or hermit-ish. TBF, I mostly listen to music I heard until the end of college, with a strong emphasis on pre-9th grade! 😆

Speaking of missing ingredients: I tried to tell Ulta about an ingredients problem on their app (for a random shampoo from a GWP bag) and the response was totally cuckoo. I told them the first 3 ingredients were missing from their product page and copied them from the back of the bottle. They replied that they were sorry I didn’t like the product and I could return it to the nearest store. 🙄 Why try?

  12. Man, after all those Cindy Crawford infomercials, I used to think I HAD to have that Meaningful Beauty and its magic melon ingredient. Now I know I'll never look like Cindy. lol

  13. I remember when Rolling Stone did one of their top 100 songs lists. Someone made the comment that every song they listed after Wooly Bully, deserved an apology… Roc has some of those HA capsules and others. Pretty much every derm I've seen cover devices like the PMD one, have said they don't recommend them.

  14. Oh no now I need to find this Rolling Stone list, if anything but to cause some chaos with my friends. 😂 Looking forward to week 3 as well. I'm always excited for Peach and Lily goodness. 🙂

I wanted to ask you since you're so familiar with K-/J-Beauty: Do you know a good dupe rec for the Tatcha Rice Cleanser? The creamy one in the tube. I see a bunch of foaming options but I am looking for some of that slight grit for gentle exfoliation. You're my go-to for all things K-Beauty these days. 😅

EDIT: I am now going through this list. Ariana Grande but no Tony Bennett!? Where's Bocelli? WHAT IS THIS LIST?

EDIT 2: NO CELINE DION? Can't remember if you said that already because I am too incensed. LOL

EDIT 3: ok I swear this is my last edit but it's apparently all pop music.

  15. Thanks for the great review. You are the best. I always watch before I purchase.!😊😊

  16. I like Vichy hyaluronic acid a bunch. Not sticky. It doesn't bother my oily and sensitive skin. Have been using for years. ❌️⭕️

  17. I've also been pretty 'meh' about this sale! I came close to buying the Shiseido eye cream last week, but I talked myself out of it because I wasn't that excited about it and was just looking for something to buy. Now I'm eyeing the Strivectin neck cream because I had a free mini years ago and I remember it made my neck (which sometimes gets sensitize) feel amazing. But at the end of the day, even at 50% off it's still a lot of money for an ounce of neck cream, so I'll try to abstain.

I've avoided the jumbo hair event too. I only wash my hair a couple of times a week and I don't really enjoy having these giant shampoo and conditioner bottles laying around in my shower for half the year.

On a side note, I hit platinum at Ulta in early December for the first time ever, and since then I haven't bought any beauty products from anywhere. I think hitting platinum made me realize I was buying way more than I need!

  18. I actually really like the fur oil! I got a generous deluxe sample of it in a ulta gwp set and it smells lovely and feels great! I personally don't find it irritating and it feels like a nice luxurious but unnecessary step though I like the way it softens coarse hair without feeling sticky or too oily. Might pick up the full size 50% off even though it does feel a little silly

  19. I've also had mixed results with Sunday Riley, that said? I totally love their CEO Oil, and is my favorite oil… (And, my only repeat SR product purchase, repurchased several times, at that) 💖

  20. First aid beauty is notorious for silent reformulations. The ultra repair cream now contains eucalyptus, the hydrating serum used to contain peptides and now it doesn’t, however, they did release a new serum that has peptides but it’s almost half the size and more expensive…*SMH*

  21. I can’t use any Lancôme skincare, they reek like my neighbor whose perfume lingers in her driveway, and many of them dry my skin out to boot

  22. Hi Alice, I'm new to Kbeauty and I'm in desperate need of a vitamin c serum, what would you recommend? I'm 39 with combo skin, dark spots (alot of them), hyperpigmentation, and get the odd breakout from periods. Any recommendations would be much appreciated, thank you!

  23. So funny, while I am watching this I’m unpacking my Ulta package with the Exuviance sampler and the IT foundation brush. I’m hoping you talk about the sampler on your Ulta haul video. Thanks for all you do.

  24. Elf holy hydration gel moisturizer is a dupe for Peter Thomas Roth however RATS Elf's has perfuming ingredients. (sigh)

  25. Love this wigggggg! On a low buy but this week might have some lil' purchases for me!

Feel the same way about Sunday Riley – some stuff I love some stuff I absolutely hate. Can't stand the smell of the CEO oil – the tumeric is SO strong on my sensitive nose and doesn't go away.

  26. Beekman is formulated with goat milk. Lactic acid is naturally present in goat's milk. One of the side effects of using lactic acid on the skin is a rash.

  27. Great video! Week 2 recommendations! I am interested in trying a new eye cream and new face moisturizer.

  28. On the topic of the Beekman ceramide serum which I have not tried.. I have personally noticed that when my skin is super dry any product with ceramides will burn just a little bit. It is weird because that ingredient is meant to help your barrier so I can't explain it but I just wanted to share my personal experience. Honestly I do have sensitive skin too so when my skin is struggling a majority of my products can make me react when I'm applying. It's a fine line cuz once applied they will be helping my skin repair tho! This isn't really helpful but basically I feel your struggle lol 🙃

  29. OMG the FUR OIL!!
….you can use any "beard oil" from the men's facial hair care section. Just be careful of those essential oils for sure. If you can't do any essentials at all, just use plain jojoba, argan or sesame.

  30. Beekman seems cool as a brand but in if they use goat milk in their ingredients , it could be allergies or maybe lactic acids in the milk or bacteria growing.

  31. I've tried the Beekman milk drops recently also and I also suspected it might have caused irritation but my skin has been generally more irritable lately…so I finished it off on my decolletage rather than face. But I read the reviews and no one commented on the smell!?! I know it contains goat milk but mine smelled so strongly of that sour goat milk smell that is the main reason I stopped putting it on my face, it was unpleasant and I just wanted to finish it off and be done with it. Maybe mine was a bad one bc I did get it on sale last year, but I wonder if the ingredients shorten the shelf life…I mean what even is the shelf life of colostrum lol. Was intrigued by the ingredients but not a fan of the smell of spoiled milk on my face.

  32. Oh, I was SO hoping that you had tried the Crepe Erase cream. I did buy the kit for $30-something last year which contains a small tube of the exfoliating scrub (which did nothing for me—-I can get more exfoliating with my loofah), a smaller tube of the neck cream, and a decent sized jar of the body cream. I wish I didn’t love the body cream so much. No, it doesn’t make my arms (which suffer most from crepey texture) look like 20-year-old arms again, but my arms are nice and soft, and the texture isn’t as obvious. Plus the texture of the product itself is DIVINE! I can’t describe it, but I’ll try. It’s so thick and rich, but it’s like…like dipping your fingers into a SPA. That’s it. Dipping your fingers into a SPA. 💖💕💖💕 The kit is the unscented one, which makes me very happy. What makes me choke, though, is the price point. I was still debating last night whether or not to remove it from my cart, so I rewatched this video last night. You are my go-to for all things skincare. If you get the time, could you please eyeball the ingredients and let me know what you think (even though I did go ahead and ordered it last night)?

  33. Ugh, forgot to mention that I got four bottles of the COSRX snail mucin (two for my daughter, two for myself), and both types of the Skyn Iceland eye patches for her and myself. We love those products so much!
