  1. My Persian shield didn't do well in low light. I didn't start growing until I put it near a window. But it is not as bright purple as it was when I purchased it.

  2. Also you can buy lots of smaller plants online havent done it myself but i see lots of reviews on youtube (:

  3. Green planter looks great as is too 🤓! Thanks for sharing. You can also just put one of those saucers at the bottom of the tote bag

  4. You be on that plant community on Facebook I do too, I'm always posting my plants and I love to get advice from everybody and I think that you found some great finds as far as your new plants your new plant babies seen a couple of them that I want for myself… so thank you…

  5. I appreciate you sharing with us! I often go plant shopping when I feel stressed out or feeling anxious or panicky. So I go plant shopping often, it's such a wonderful addiction to have 🙂

  6. its good to hear that the simplicity of plants make you happy!!! plants=happiness all the way, as a plant mom myself im also glad to see others as happy as i am when it comes to plants. Sending you positive vibes!!

  7. That's not a begonia, it's a coleus. They're really cool plants that grow well in shade and they come in all sorts of bright colors.

  8. The "begonia" is a coleus. Good price on the variegated rubber, I'd split those and repot for quick treelike growth. Also good on the monstera, can't believe how expensive those are now. I'm a plantaholic too.

  9. Hello Steph. I'm Linda, I'm playing catch up on videos, so this is a while after this was posted. But, I just want to say, I feel for you and the battles with all that life throws at us , plus insomnia! My insomnia started when I had my first child in 1982. Mid night feedings was devastating to my normal sleep pattern and I'm slowing recovering (35 yrs. later), now that the kids have grow up. I have resumed my love for houseplants (100+) in addiction to my greenhouse plants. Here is the point, they are work! But, they are therapeutic for me as well. I believe it fills up an emptiness, and watching them grow brings me joy. I also sleep better now for some reason, maybe the air purifying qualities of the plants? I'm not sure but I love them all, great or small! I'm glad bringing plants into your life has help you as well with depression etc… Happy growing!

  10. I know its so exciting to get plants at the grocery store for such great prices but there are some drawbacks. Very, very often the plants will come home with one or more pests. I have brought home plants from very fancy grocery stores and I would say 95% of the time they have something. Im not sure how long you have been keeping plants or if you have gone through a bug infestation with them yet? Man it takes forever to treat when it happens. I guess as long as you are checking for bugs and quarantining your new plants you should be ok. They are beautiful plants. I love all the ones you picked up. 🙂 Happy Planting! 🙂

  11. Your oxalis is a very uncommon, one not usually sold in stores. The purple underside is an unusual trait, treasure it. I remember reading that it has been propagated as the more common all green type for years—and still is. I don’t think it’s going dormant, but they can be quite finicky when moved and repotted. I tried to split a bundle and the smaller half completely died off and the larger half also nearly did the same. Their suppose to be nearly unkillable, but they are a bit temperamental. It may want more sunlight? I have the purple variety and it loves a few hours of direct sunlight—mine sits close to a window with only receiving about 3 hours of direct light and bright indirect light for the rest of the day. Not sure if yours would like the same?

  12. I bought a monstera at a stop n shop in May (I NEVER shop there but decided to check it out that day). At that point I was only a week/few weeks in with being interested with plants but I was surprised that they had the plant that I wanted the most. It was $14… I think? If I'm being honest I don't even remember the amount but it's 2x the size of yours so I can't complain about the price. I even went to Lowe's and a few other places and had no luck. Also I feel the same way, I used to rely on some kind of retail therapy to feel some kind of feeling. When I was sad, mad, angry, stressed with work and my family. But it just led to messes and just me feeling more stressed since I didn't like anything, esp myself. With this new found love for plants I see myself changing and appreciating life a bit more. I'm not sure if it's because they're living but maybe the plants gives off energy? Idk every time I look at them I just feel peaceful and feel like I have a purpose. Caring for plants and whatnot just has done more than what Ive ever expected.

  13. I work at my local garden center so I’m right there with you. Green plants are my weakness. 38 house plants and counting. I got my Swiss cheese plant for $25 but I just couldn’t walk away from it.

  14. I actually live in Montana too, so I understand the struggle with prices and limited options. I can't believe you found a Monstera at the grocery store for a reasonable price!

  15. I LIVE in Lowe's clearance section 😂😂 I got a $23 Peace Lily for $1!! Walmart also has cheap plants 🙂

  16. I so understand how you feel, and I ain't going to no doctor. They drug you with medication.Plants have been the best therapy for my depression.I collect rare plants, could be a cactus, succulents, ferns ext. When you see no joy in anything….talk to your green pets(plants).I think there the only ones that understand.

  17. Love your personality! I recently rediscovered houseplants as well, it is so much fun!! Subscribed. 🙂

  18. Been there so hard.😒plants will really pull you out and help you be happy. I have 74 plants and I just can't get enough!
I hope you continue to thrive and and buy plants!

  19. Haha i enjoyed the video! Nice loot from the thrift store. The oxalis are one of my favorite. Now i think i need to find a watermelon pepperonia. 🙂

  20. we are in montana too! i agree the plants are a fortune here and shipping can kill them at times with the cold. also the deep cold is super depressing at times and the house plants can bring such a zest and life in the home I love it!
