Fans would have to wait 18 long months, but eventually, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain would be released to the public. The game would be universally acclaimed, with many praising it for its varied mechanics, level of player freedom, open world design, cast performances and so much more. But now, it\u2019s been 9 years since the game\u2019s initial release, and I\u2019m finally getting around to playing this game for the first time after hearing that it\u2019s one of the best stealth games ever made for nearly a decade. So was all that praise really deserved? Directed, written, and designed by Hideo Kojima (as his final work at Konami), it is the ninth installment in the Metal Gear franchise, following Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, a stand-alone prologue released the previous year.
