    The 2 flowers: I think that hints to how its gonna have something to do with flowers.
    The Sun: I think that is more in reference to light. Like the emission and the fireflies.
    The Calendar: The announcement January 8th.

    I wonder if emissive textures were the real reason fireflies weren’t added. If so, they should had just said something along the lines of: we’re having technical difficulties adding the fireflies, they will be postponed till a future update, in the meantime we’ve got some cool new stuff coming down the line… I think people would have been far more understanding and patient in that case.

    I mean, who says that fireflys are only possible in swamps, right? So they can add them to what ever biome they want to add or rework.

    IMO they're probably doing this for two reasons; 1, to appease fans, who are clearly angry and turning against Mojang, and 2, because they actually have some up and coming competition for once and can't just get away with doing the bare minimum. Hytale is ( finally ) showing some hints of coming out of its development nightmare, and Vintage Story is picking up some serious steam. On the other hand, you have the lawsuit that people are cheering on.

    What's funny is that of all Mojang have done, the situation around fireflies is probably the least bad and frustrating thing. Remove chat (and name and skin and all that other stuff) reporting and bans, get rid of the stupid Micro$oft accounts and make amends for the migration, bring back C418, quit it with making EVERYTHING safe and targeted towards children (really, we aren't even encouraged to kill any new mobs, nothing hostile can be realistic, and all the new blocks have the pastel color palette of a kindergarten), and make Minecraft feel, well Minecrafty again, and THEN we can talk. Until then, I'll keep playing Vintage Story and holding out hope for Hytale, and cheering on the lawsuit. Nobody really cares about fireflies. They were just the catalyst that got people riled up about everything else…
