I was in Japan on August 1998, spending my work vacation, and bought this game. The other game I wanted to buy was Metal Gear Solid, but unfortunatelly it was going to be released some weeks after I returned from Japan. I can't believe it was over 20 years ago that I played this game. I never got tired of watching the intro, sometimes I would let the intro run a couple of times before starting the game.
Does anyone know if there is an english patch for the PS2 version? I feel like the PS1 one will be unplayable for me although I did have fun with the GBA version of Phantasia when I played it.
I wonder why all the Japanese RPG on that era is the best version, I never had the same feeling again on nowaday JRPG, I still vividly remember like Azure Dreams, Thousand Arms, Wild Arms1 and 2, Saga Frontier 1 and 2, FFtactics, Tales series, Suikoden 1 and 2, Star Ocean, Lunar silver star stories, BoF series, Grandia, Chrono Cross, legend of legaia, Granstream saga. WTF happen??
Parece que foi ontem que vi essa abertura pela primeira vez, continua perfeita como sempre. Ficava tentando emular esse jogo desesperadamente no meu PC na época e nunca tinha sucesso pois meu hardware e os emuladores eram muito ruins. Que melodia linda e essa animação é extremamente bem feita!
Mutsumi Inomata really know what she was doing when designing Tales of Destiny characters, it gives Magical Knights Rayearth vibes, and those 90's big eyes really send a message, I would like to met her in person to know more
Sadly the PS1 game NEVER left the PS1 Era PS2 version of Destiny never left Japan and both it and Destiny 2 PS1/Eternia still cost MORE then the PS5 FOR IT that BOTH need a PS4 PS5 switch port.

2020 still gives me goosebumps. wish they remake this and arc the lad just like they do FF7.

the heck, i only played the American version but definitely prefer the Japanese opening version

Just beat the PS2 Director's Cut version with the English patch yesterday. This is now my favorite opening of all the Tales games I've played
