I love how in DmC games Dante and Vergil are portrayed as these super cool dudes who fight demons when the people they're based on isn't cool at all. Basically, there's this Italian poet from the 1400s who simped for this girl called Beatrice, who died at a young age. So, he writes this poema (a really long poem) about him going through the realms of Hell and Purgatory to get back to Beatrice and also to purify his soul (because he was very religious). And as a mentor he choses Virgilio (Vergil), that he didn't even meet in real life because he was born before Christianity was a thing. And if you wonder how I know all these things, you gotta thank the Italian school system.
TL;DR, Dante and Vergil are two poets and Dante is a simp.
