You know when a series requires you to play a whole bunch of previous installments just to understand what the hell is going on its a bad sign. . . it needs to relaunch or be its own contained story. Its just way too convoluted and poorly paced now. Its not worth playing for anytone other than hardcore fans, because everyone else wont know what the hell is going on. They need to get as far away from all the convolution as possible and just start a new, simpler story arc imo. hopefully they start with mgs5.
the new voice actor for big boss is really good. Big boss went through a lot more pain and has more ideology than solid snake, this voice really suits him well

Yes, I sound like a hipster but I don't care. MGS fans have been here all along and are hyped, you don't "HAVE" to do anything you're not obligated to do. Read a wiki or play the games to understand the story, or don't bother getting in on the wonderful tales of MGS.
Never understood the appeal of this series. It just seems so cheesy and melodramatic but people talk about it like its this really gripping, moving story.
Am I the only one who thinks the one kid he is fighting is Frank Jeagger and not Liquid? It would fit in that timeline for Jeagger to join up and soon to become Gray Fox. Altho… Portable ops. Oh well. We'll find out soon enough 9-8-14 I hope or 8-9-14 It still would be sooner than I expected and would be awesome.
i think "big boss" goes off the reservation when he gets the metal blasted into his head & thats why he's all pissed off… not to mention all of his psych probs before that…

And by the way, that is not the big shell nor is it the same outer heaven that snake infiltrated in metal gear…snake infiltratef a land based compound. Kinda looks like they just rebuilt mother base idk…
The graphics have really improved with Metal Gear over the years but I still don't think that the Fox Engine is up to par with COD's engine or Dice's. Still though, it looks impressive!

I for one don't want to see Zero in MGS5. I think Zero should be shown as being afraid of seeing Big Boss face to face since they broke away, obsessed with him in the sense of not being able to let go of him but afraid of what BB is capable of doing after everything that has happened to him because of Zero's resentment and paranoia. I think MGS5 should leave us all seeing Zero as somewhat of a pathetic and cowardly man with a lot of power and influence.

This is NOT a game about Solid Snake, it's Big Boss – Venom Snake, listen to how he sounds in MGS4 when he was voiced by Richard Doyle, that's how he sounds when he's old and on deaths door, Sutherland sounds a hell of a lot more like him than Hayter does.
Sutherland is a fantastic choice to play Big Boss, I thought he did a great job in Ground Zeroes and I'm certain he'll be mind blowing in TPP.
Hayter will always be Solid Snake, a completely different character to his "father" I'm hoping the next MGS will be a re-telling of the original Metal Gear, with Hayter voicing a young Solid Snake and Sutherland voicing Big Boss, that'd be fucking epic.
I don't know what's the big deal with Kief, he has a very raspy, deep and tortured voice that fits perfect for Big Boss tormented soul, I agreed that Dave should continue as Solid, only he has THE perfect tone to portray him, I've been fan since the MSX System. Though remember, Big Boss is geeting old, so his voice, his face, and even his friggin' body movement changes, plus Kojima knows what he's doing, let the man continue his job
i know im kind of overstepping here but as a fan since MGS on PS1 im going to say i've made my peace with the whole david hayter thing, would have loved to see him return but tbh, i know him as solid snake and if sutherland did the voice for big boss from the beginning i probably would have liked him the most. Its not the same, but my hat's off for sutherland doing a great job and actually recognizing what this character means to fans, and how important his role in this will be
